Mega Man X9, in the SNES style. Similar to how they did MM9 and MM10 a while back.

MMX1-3 are some of my favorite games ever made. I'd kill for another high-quality title in that exact style. None of the fancy PS1 era models, voices, etc. I just want the SNES style, right down to the character sprites.

A true console sequel to Wind Waker

Another one I always thought would be fun is a security contractor/business sim.

Basically, it's the converse of a stealth game: there's one (or maybe a handful on harder levels) intruder and it's your job to keep them out. So you can station guards and place cameras and stuff, which all costs money, so you want to keep your spending in check.

There could be detailed orders, like check nooks and crawlspaces, which takes more time but is more thorough, etc. and of course they have weapons with which to stop the intruder, which you can upgrade over the course of the game.

And you'd have other gadgets and stuff that you can unlock as you play too. Maybe even like a Ubisoft-style idle R&D system or something.

I dunno if it would work in practice but I always liked the idea anyway.

I fucking loved those games, and its a damn shame every other stealth game is preachy.

For example, in Dishonored, if you kill everyone even if you use the power that makes bodies disintegrate on death, so they cant possibly be found or spread the plague the world goes to shit and you get the bad ending. Its like Hey, here are all these cool powers and tools to kill people with, but dont use em!

In Splinter Cell, Hitman, Deus Ex, etc., you usually get punished at least somewhat for kills, depending on which entry it is. Just let me fucking stealth assassinate everyone k thx.

The sequel to WW that Nintendo was working on before it was scrapped to make TP. I'd rather have a real sequel than whatever crap the DS Zelda are.

Or I'd like an original metroidvania on the same level of quality as Hollow Knight.
If I think of something more original I'll post later but for now I'm happy to see what new things indie games bring to the table.

Yeah and it was implemented in the most bizarre way possible. Iirc you practically had to beat the game before you could change the difficulty in either direction and the direction you could choose was version dependent. What is even the point of an easy mode you have to unlock by completing a challenge most of the way through the game?

Years ago, I had an idea kind of akin to the failed Last Rebellion RPG game.

Turnbased game but you attack enemy body parts. Each enemy has different weak points to strike at.

My idea kind of took that and kind of aimed to use undead/possession a key element in it.

It was possible to use them at the start of the game if you had a friend or family member that finished the game since you could swap records using the IR on the cartridge. But yeah, it was really dumb to include it as post game content, especially since if you have hard mode active is effects the GYM Leaders' rosters.

Yeah, even with the swappy thing, that's very silly.

I want to make a Soulslike that's balanced around PVP from the jump, but has the budget of a triple A MMO like WoW.

There's absolutely no way it'd be financially viable, but it'd make Elden Ring's world size look like Ocarina of Time's.

I haven't played it in years and ultimately gave up because I got into a stalemate because neither me nor the CPU could win, but iirc, yes.

A new Phantasy Star Online game that goes back to slower paced roots and puts actual effort into balance.

A new, non-gacha Final Fantasy Tactics game with a fleshed out and elaborate job system.

A Pokemon game that gets its head out of its ass and updates the dated mechanics the series has been dragging behind it.

I also kinda want a really detailed astrologistics simulator.

You play as some kind of manager or something for a system-wide FedEx equivalent several centuries in the future. It's your job to schedule deliveries, assign vehicles and routes, etc. by launching them with a click, drag, release motion.

But the fun/tricky thing is that the physics are stupidly detailed and you can do real-world physics tricks like gravitational flybys for additional optimization. Of course, nothing tells you you can do these things. There's just a trajectory line on screen that snaps in place when you get close enough to a trajectory that should work.

Might require insane amounts of CPU power, I dunno, but the idea is fun at least.

A new danganronpa game where I avoid spoilers for the first 3 damn games.

I just want Breath of the Wild but with Ocarina of Time art style and Twilight Princess dungeons. And a real story and a real soundtrack.

Also Paper Zelda. And Paper Sonic. Not necessarily Paper, just good turn based RPGs lol.
