Summary:
A black man named Frank Tyson was killed by (what looks to be) an all-white police team in a bar in Ohio on April 18th. Video has just come out showing them kneeling on his neck, with him telling them that he couldn't breathe before he ultimately died from the asphyxiation. He repeatedly cried out the cops were going to kill him and yelled for the sheriff.

After that, the cops were apparently sitting around and having a casual conversation for 5min while his dead body was on the ground and didn't give him CPR for 8min. One of the cops said "I've always wanted to be in a bar fight, I don't know if this counts *chuckle*"

I never intended to post anymore outside of my First Impressions threads, but this really bothered me. Frank may have been drunk or having a psychotic break, either way, they killed the poor man. And didn't do shit to try and save him.

A federal ban would have been nice, but I know there's not the political will or capital to do it.

It should be constitutional to do it. I don't think there's any state policing power that would override something like due process or cruel and unusual...

There were several cop apologists back in the day on 261, including one who kept saying that Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown, and the victims of Kyle Rittenhouse "deserved it" and continued to insist George Floyd's killer was only guilty of manslaughter. Thank god they either got banned or stopped posting.

It wouldn't matter if they did. Even if they had a federal ban, the cops instinct would kick in and they would just do it anyway, and the penalty for doing so would amount to fuck all. It fucking blows.

This is why I have absolutely zero, no negative respect for cops.

Lightly trained, if even trained at all, no de-escalation techniques, straight into violence. Half of these losers were just bullied in high school and are taking out their frustrations on the general public.

These people are PUBLIC SERVANTS, yet they act like they are the end all, be all. Pigs need to learn they work for us, not the other way around and stop fucking killing civilians.

How is there not the political will???? We had the biggest protests of the century about specifically this. Democratic politicians kneeled wearing kente cloth in the halls of Congress. If there's not enough "political will" to stop this one thing after that, there's no political will for anything.

For stating what was easily observed? They still needed to give medical attention right after cuffing him, and shouldn't be standing around for five minutes with him just laying there, but this doesn't appear to be another case like George Floyd.

He is dead and they are to blame.

I haven't watched yet did they leave him on his stomach cause that's a big no no. That's called positional asphyxiation and I've had it drilled into my head heavily once a year every year. Overweight drunk high or certain health conditions make it damn near guaranteed death sentence

Looks like the last thing anyone said to him was "You're fine. Shut the fuck up".

What professionalism.

Just got reminded I had to cuff a guy in prison cause he was so high he face planted right in front of me. Like was just standing there and down he went. Naturally he struggled due to being too high to be aware of what's going on but I got the job done. At that point back up finally arrived and I'm winded from the struggle cause this was a big dude. After a few seconds I looked up after catching my breath and saw he was still on his stomach and I said seriously nobody is gonna roll him onto his side? Finally someone helped me after I started to do it myself.

As said I was winded. These guys where fresh so they shoulda had plenty enough energy to do it.

Here we go again with this BS.

The thing that bothers me most is that we don't get the George Floyd response every time this happens.

There should be two options:
1) the murder-cop is tried and found guilty
2) the city is set ablaze and the government that protects murder-cops has to pay for the damages

There should not be a third option. Rioting, or the threat of rioting, is the least-violent response to get anything done.

It's not exactly the same no. But they still ignored him repeatedly saying that he couldn't breath and just left him lying on the ground. The dude went from freaking out to completely silent and they took 5 minutes to even check him.

Because it's likely not on the news and the US has probably "moved past it". George Floyd protests had the benefit of COVID lockdowns giving a ton of already frustrated and on-edge people almost infinite free time.

Since then there were a ton of cop killings. People probably just don't care, or don't have the time.
