Honest question. Because pretty much every time I see it happen, it's the same old story. At first, little to nothing changes. Then it gets progressively worse. Whether it's the layout, the removal of features, harsher rules, etc. At best, there might be some small improvements at the cost of several drawbacks. I'm honestly having trouble thinking of an example where it was a net positive.

On a similar note: When a site or app owned by a big corp. does an update, have the updates EVER been a net good?

GameFaqs might honestly be the first, as I cant think of any others.

BoxOfficeMojo was gutted by Amazon back in the day.

Rooster Teeth. When they were a small indie company, their website had all sorts of issues; videos didn't load, forum glitches. Once they were bought up, functionality improved.

Maybe not the best example considering their current state, but fair enough.

A lot of sites are designed to get fucked in the long run. They're long term investments, given capital and time to grow and seize a significant chunk of the internet. Then, when they're ripe, the investors start fucking shit up for that sweet, sweet return. Reddit is probably the most notable of these

Maybe that's for the best considering how awful a lot of their employees were.

Topic isn't about the company's overall, just their websites.
