More skill rebalancing albeit smaller

tl;dr:
Slayer lets you swap between tasks in your storage while mid-task. Requires a one-time 1000 point fee, but is free afterwards
Clue scrolls are easier to steal on certain NPCs
Brimhaven Agility Tickets got changed to Vouchers, also can't world hop to cheese the voucher pillars like in the past
Removed fail points on a couple agility courses near the end
Stopped Mining Gloves from working on Granite and Sandstone due to an exploit, but may implement it later after tweaking it.
Some Varlamore changes (idk I haven't been there yet >_>)

Why no Ubuntu Forever for Spinoza

Im relatively annoyed that stacking clues didnt pass. Not infinite amounts, just like 5 or 10 would be cool. Even with the shit rates from thieving in recent updates, it would have been good to get that change so players dont have to always change things up and juggle shit.

Common things for clues now include spam opening impling jars and dropping clues on the floor for up to one hour. Its basically the same thing except that stacking clues is not allowed while stacking caskets is. Players shot that down in the poll for no reason if you look back on it.

I think the Pyramid Plunder minigame has the best xp rates outside of high-intensity blackjacking. It's still mildly annoying what with needing antipoisons and all, but you do get a chance at pharaohs sceptre at least.

thanks dude!! Well TBF hunter is pretty fast compared to mining. IIRC it took me like 2-3 months to 99 mining. I was also working like 50-60 hours a week at the time though so maybe could have gotten it in half the time if i had more free time back then

but anyway gl on the 85 mining! It is probably not so bad now w/ better methods. I just did iron ores which was lame af

Tree runs are so slow. Is that really the best option to 99?

I dont even remember grinding to 99 farming because its so different than most other 99s. Learn your herb runs, do those to fund a once daily tree run. I just did that and before I knew it I was at 99 farming.

I watched a video and the guy basically said to ignore every plant except trees and fruit trees so you dont lose your mind grinding lol. is that correct advice?

Well Id say so because trees and fruit trees take, like 8-16 hours to grow? I cant remember. But a tree run takes like 10-15 minutes tops, log in the next day, and each tree is just a large xp drop. So tons of xp for very little time put in.

i forgot that shanty pass has a bank chest. so just gonna use that. 4k something squirt juices = 99 thieving. just gonna bank them all lol

My personal plan from here onward is to get some Chinchompas to get my Ranged level from 68 to 75, get a Toxic Blowpipe, and then take on the Fight Caves to beat Jad and get the Fire Cape. Been wanting to get one for a long time, and it seems finally in reach with the quest providing a strategy for quickly boosting my ranged level via: https://oldschool.runescape.wiki/w/Maniacal_monkey/Strategies#Ranged_.

yeah there's a one click summer garden runelite plugin that i've been using. . if the elementals are at "0" just click the tree when the timer hits 0.

had to world hop a few times to find synchronized elementals. though it seems like they eventually fix themselves after a few failed runs at 0 timer (incase i cant find any worlds)

also im no longer gonna stack these juices till 99 thieving. couldn't handle going without a thieving xp drop for too long lol. just gonna turn them in every few runs and also do blackjacking on the side

It's been a few years since I did it, but I recall it being pretty hard. There's a couple dungeons/mazes that are a real pain in the ass to get through, and at least a couple boss fights that are going to take you at least a few attempts.

Tried Barbarian Assault for the 1st time and it was rough but I got through it lol

My team was super helpful and guided me through it (and ribbed me for wearing Red d'hide so they knew I was kinda new lol). I fumbled with the arrows and calls at the start but eventually I learned what to do and got it done >_> I'm glad a lot of RS players are pretty chill.

I was attacker since it was the easiest but the other roles look pretty tough to learn

Collector is the easiest role, then Attacker, then Healer, and Defender is last. Defender is the only one that is insanely different and requires lots of knowledge.

It has some pretty difficult boss fights that almost require safe spotting/advanced tactics unless you are REALLY good at this game. In particular...the last two fights at the quest's end are quite difficult. Luckily, there are some strategies that make the quest possible for mid level acoounts

The penultimate fight (hardest part imo) has you go up against two Level 141 Tortured Gorillas and two Level 275 Demonic Gorillas. They use all of the different combat styles, and the latter two use protection prayers after you have done enough damage in one style, meaning you have to gear switch as well. Worse still, you have to fight two (of the four) enemies at a time, and Nieve who fights with you doesn't help much, which means you can't use prayers easily to mitigate all the damage you will be taking. A Demonic Gorilla comes in after you take out a Tortured Gorilla, and they hit really hard. It took me three tries as I (somewhat) got the pattern down of gear switching/prayer flicking, but even then I was only able to defeat two of the Tortured Gorilla and one of the Demonic Gorilla. I may have been able to defeat the last one had I had higher combat stats and better Ranged Equipment as well as was more comfortable with gear switching, but I ran out of food, so I just hid while Nieve very slowly defeated the last Demonic Gorilla. I used Void Knight equipment with a change of helm/weapon/some armor as my gear switch by the way. May not be the best, but using Void Equipment means I have to switch less equipment and can bring more food, so that's the choice I made. It worked, kinda anyway.

The final quest fight has you against an enhanced Level 431 Glough who has 3 phases. You look online and all the people beating him fairly are almost maxed out...so I used a Magic Longbow (cheap weapon, I know) and safe spotted the first two phases. The last phase can't be completely safe spotted, but you can use hit and run tactics to chip him down while minimizing damage.

I beat the quest with melee combat stats in the 70's and Ranged in the mid 60's, although higher stats would probably make it easier. The main reason I beat it so early is because it opens up the fastest way to train Ranged. Again, planning to get to level 75, get a Toxic Blowpipe, beat the Level 700+ Jad in the Fight Caves, and get a Fire Cape.

Also, the final battles' theme "Monkey Badness" is such a great musical track. Glad to have unlocked it.

I've been putting off doing Barbarian Assault until I have at least 70+ Ranged with (hopefully Elite) Void Knight armor for the Attacker role. The game looks complicated and rounding up a team to do it sounds tedious. I do want to do it soon though (maybe after getting a Fire Cape), as I need to beat the Penance Queen to be able to complete the Hard Kandarin diary.

I kinda just walked in a room and joined a group at wave 1 lol. Just join one and go for it. The group I was seemed pretty chill. If you get a bunch of dickheads then don't sweat it. Everyone's gotta break that cherry sometime

From what I can tell you have to carry everything with you. If I know I gotta switch styles, I'll just keep a couple medium armor pieces that won't incur a heavy penalty (like dragon mid helm, dragon boots, and barrows gloves) and then switch out the chest, legs, and weapon with whatever style I need

It is in a way. The penultimate fight in particular would have been better if the enemies came out one at a time, as separating them from each other is difficult. Having to deal with...
1. Switching your protection prayers
2. Gear Switching to be able to do damage
3. Eating food/Drinking Potions

Is already a lot to deal with. Not helping matters is Demonic Gorillas have really high defense stats, so most of my attacks missed altogether, particularly when using Ranged. Maybe an Arclight sword would have made things easier, but I didn't have that available.

Good advice. The Attack and Collector roles at least seem fairly simple. Will give the game a try once I take care of getting a Fire Cape.

You have to bring the armor pieces in your inventory slots and click each piece to equip it. (Elite) Void Knight Equipment is a good option for gear switching, since you can get away with just changing the headpiece and your weapon to the particular attack style you need and can still get respectful DPS. Still, if you can handle switching more pieces and having less item slots, you can get betters results, particularly defensively.

You can use F keys to switch game tabs but other than that the gear switching, magic, and praying are all pretty manual.

Its easier to hybrid range and melee than to incorporate magic most of the time. There are exceptions to that, but you can get away with like Bandos tassets and dragon hide top with range and melee hybrid so you only have to switch weapons.

I feel like a lover lol I've been so spoiled with modern MMOs that even in RS3 I never took the time to really learn the new mechanics. I know it's probably easier in 3 than OS but I still feel dumb and overwhelmed with it all

Got 80 thieving this morning

Gonna do three quests so I can get a Dwarven Rock Cake

So I can activate redemption prayer on the fly while black jacking. Bought some zammy brews (gives 9 prayer points) for around 3k ea. Redemption heals me 24 hp or so. Relying on luck (of the bandit hitting me before prayer points run out) I can get about 50k thieving xp per zammy brew so over 1m xp per inventory at around my current level.

Wayy better than wines which is like maybe 80k-100k xp for an entire inventory before i have to go and get more

I can't afford sara brews lmao

I think people tend to use ancient brews for thieving. Zamorak brews are cheaper but I think also obviously worse.

lmao yeah i get stressed out by quests tbh so i avoided them for so long. I've only completed like 20 something of them so far. I have to finally start doing majority of them soon. the quest helper is a nice feature atleast

I ended up getting the rogues outfit. Took like 10 mins.
Expected it to take an hour or so lol.

So I can use sara brews for blackjacking now without losing money. Cost around 300k for 27 of them and I get around 500k gp from the bandits after a 2 hour and something mins session. This also means like 600k xp!

The failure rate isn't that bad at 80 and onwards thieving so I can comfortably watch videos while doing it now.
