Anyone playing Pokemon TCG Pocket? It seems surprisingly well done and accessible for all skill types.

It's been a weird week for gachas with several new releases and a bunch of EoS announcements.

Legend Clover isn't as fun as I hoped it would be, and it also drains my phone battery like crazy. I'm probably just going to farm until I unlock all of the "scenes" for the characters I have and then uninstall.

I might try Pokemon TCG Pocket next, but I don't see myself enjoying that one much either. It seems to be focused way more on the collecting than the actual card game itself, and for the people who actually want to build decks and play, it also looks nowhere near as F2P-friendly as Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel.

It's pretty F2P friendly. They give you a lot of packs off the bat and around 2.3 pulls a day. Once they start having events and stuff, I think it'll be pretty great

It's like if Duel Links is extremely generous and the PVP isn't toxic

I got Logos on 30 pulls and was going to stop there but I decided to roll for Wisadel anyways. She took another 200 pulls lol, only got a second Logos and a Muelsyse on the way.

Considering going for the spark now since I'd only need like 40 more pulls. Already have all the sparkable units though.

Okay, now I need to find out where to get the free daily SSR that they're giving out in Starseed, because I've looked everywhere and can't find my day one Helen :<

Kinda funny how they balanced (and I use that term very loosely) Gojo in the JJK game. Hes ridiculously OP but leaves after 7 turns lol. OP in the sense that he does massive damage and is literally invincible. His passive is that he doesnt take damage lol

Gojo is bonkers compared to everyone else available currently, even with those so called balances lol. At least until Yuta arrives in about 3 weeks.

I was trying the Wizardry gacha, Daphne or whatever. It's... actually very good lol

It's just like a full on RPG in the style of Wizardry. It's got mindnumbing puzzles and the classic grid based dungeon explorer

Also it's hard as balls, and there's freaking permadeath.

Yeah I mean it exists, but supposedly you have to be really impatient and purposely sabotage yourself.

If you characters die and they don't have a high meter on the heart thing (which recovers in a few hours), and you keep reviving them like that like 3 times, they turn into ashes. They warn you that this could happen and basically lay it out for you that you shouldn't revive them like that unless something's really urgent I guess

The last time I heard of permadeath in gacha is in Kancolle.

Ash Echoes is releasing tomorrow for global and looks kinda beautiful. At least the characters lol

Goddamn, I really do think Wizardry Daphne is really good. I think the story already got pretty intriguing, and it has genuinely difficult fights that don't necessarily amount to just grind and win. Well, tbf, you CAN grind and just breeze through, but they level lock you to lvl 20 for one of the early big bosses, meaning your team actually has to be robust.

Btw, if you make an account b4 the 13th, you can get compensation for 30 pulls. Sadly they're on maintenance so it might be too late

Lol... Wizardry Daphne is sadly going through a big controversy.

Their 1st banner unit Lanavaille was already in the champ pool but as a younger form. However, the banner Lana was actually supposed to have a different passive pool, but unbeknownst to all the players, banner Lana was identical aside from the looks and different voice acting etc. So people kept sacrificing extraneous copies of banner Lana since people already had the younger Lana, not realizing they should've been 2 separate units

They gave a ton of compensation for that, but then something crazier happened

People started reporting that they randomly got the pre-reg bonuses again, but it was random. A few minutes after, the game went into maintenance again (I know this because I tried to log in right after seeing that 10-15 minute old post lol). But this time, they're on maintenance... until further notice. They don't even know when they'll come back on, and the game is literally unplayable. It's a very single player oriented game, and a damn good one at that, so it's really irritating not being able to play whatsoever

So uhh... yeah they better compensate us for quite a bit more lol. The game isn't that generous though the rates are 5% so I have a lot of max rarity rolls including 2 of each of the Lanas. I'm glad I didn't fuse her off.

Lana is a cool character cuz her younger self is some kind of a low confidence caged up princess, and her history suggests that she was basically put up as a bounty for the next king as her father died without a male heir. Something else happened along the way, and banner Lana is a confident, shorter haired adventurer, so I guess the implication is that she eventually took control of the situation. Sadly the other implication is that she probably died while adventuring in the Abyss, but some parts of her bone revives her as her no confidence younger self. It's a pretty cool concept

Hoping the Wizardry devs also take the time to improve the performance of the game, I tried it on release and the game ran decently until cutscenes with loads of slowdown happened.

After a whole day of being out of commission, the game is back in a few min. They chose to give everybody pre-reg bonuses a 2nd time lol.

My phone thankfully runs the game fine, but the game will be out on Steam pretty soon, so those worries should go away for anybody with a PC

Ash Echoes is definitely...different...in it's systems. Lots of shit they throw at you that isn't your usual gacha stuff. But I'm liking the character designs and making a summoner team is fun

Just spent the last 50 minutes pulling in Wizardry with all the free stuff lol. I took my time, didn't get too crazy luck, just normal

I am a quitter. I uninstalled Ash Echoes before I even tried it lol. Partly because watching gameplay videos made me think it wasnt for me, and partly because 3 people in my Epic Seven guilds Discord said they uninstalled it lol. And I guess because I want to make some progress in Brown Dust 2.

Plus GFL 2 is coming out pretty soon, so I think my current games can hold me over :3

Btw GFL 2 actually makes you lost a free character if you skip stuff.

Skip the story. The tutorial (story) is pretty long. You can only recruit/pull after you finish like 3 missions + all the stories.

Just an angy bnuuy girl. She'll be powercrept but GFL 2 has Genshit's gacha rate, so you do need all the help you can get early on. Plus she is not completely useless.

I wasn't planning on trying another gacha game until GFL2 or Magia Exedra came out, but Heaven Burns Red is tempting me.

It's Key visual novel wrapped as gacha game.
Also Wright Flyer makes good client.

I have full of visual novel stuff with GFL already, so I'm not trying it.

Fully unlocked things (and assuming you are also a try-harder), according to Ceia and others who played on CN, income seems to be similar to Project Neural Cloud, estimated at about 50 pulls per month for purely repeatables (so no per patch stuff, character events, or battle pass) for no-payer.

I "beat" Wizardry Daphne, but it's basically a time loop story.

Heck, it could honestly be said that the first loop is more or less an extremely long tutorial, cuz the game massively opens up.

I dunno the last time I played a gacha that was actually like a game as much as this. There's actual progression, and the story actually intersects with the gameplay

I've read a lot of VNs and played adventure games with similar motif, but I don't remember a dungeon crawling RPG that does an intricate time loop to save everybody eventually type of story.

Basically, the Abyss, the dungeon you crawl, is like diving into hell, but there is a hunter, and you're constantly being hunted in their domain. So there are a bunch of circumstances, and in the first loop, you basically get all of your NPC allies get killed one by one.

In the 2nd loop and on, you're given a bunch of new dialogues, and your ghost girlfriend pretty much believes you right off the bat and gives you advice. You're given Knowledges, which are basically events you know could happen in the future, and they're given ratings. Well, the first loop Knowledges of various NPC deaths are mostly 1 star out of 3, meaning they're the easiest things to solve, and a lot of NPCs basically died to the easiest thing. They'll gradually ramp up the difficulty, and it's not enough to save them once.

The Nikke event is today in Houston and I'm stuck at work I don't think I can even make it in time when I get out

Lucky me, I actually got 3 of the prime pull targets in HBR on my first try. That saves me the trouble of re-rolling. The characters and dialogue have been fun so far too.
