I think hes spent most of his career phoning it in, especially in the last half of his career where he basically stopped trying as a rapper.

I think hes interesting cause hes a rap nerd and a super talented rapper, who actively chooses not to rap so its weird duality

I dont listen to a lot of Drakes music, but the fact that he used AI versions of Tupac and Snoop is crazy to me. He didnt give any thought to their styles of rapping or their verbiage and just had their virtual voices reading words that he (hopefully) wrote It soured my opinion of him in general.

I wouldn't put anyone who's known for using ghostwriters anywhere in the top 50, tbh.

and while he has made some good songs, and has had a lot of longevity, I don't know if I would say he had any classic albums (classic songs, though, yes).

That plus it makes it look like he's essentially saying it's OK to steal people's identity to use in songs (and movies/shows/games/etc.) using AI when the vast majority of the actors + singers in the entertainment industry are against it.

Any of the major names in Wu-Tang Clan, Redman, Lupe Fiasco, MF DOOM, Ludacris, KRS-One, Common, Mos Def, Tyler, the Creator, Mac Miller are all some rappers I'd put above Drake.

And I'd put LL Cool J above him too

Drake has hits, but he's incredibly mediocre as an actual rapper and my opinion of him is even lower if he uses ghostwriters

Drake is not in any discussion for being one of the greatest rappers. He's a glorified pop rapper, a modern Will Smith in a lot of ways. He has more star power than anyone else in the game, but not much skill as an actual MC. His first three albums were acceptable and then he sold out to go more pop.

he phones it in half the time, and hed rather be popular than showcase his full talent, in beef hes consistently over confident.

But hes got a 15 year career as a top rapper, with more good verses than most other people on the list off the strength of longevity alone.
