If the anti-Biden stuff was supposed to be the commentary on Gaza I think that was more anti-U.S. government involvement because Congress are the ones who create those aid package bills and any other POTUS would be doing the same on signing them, minus perhaps Sanders who is asking that Israel be held accountable under the law that stipulates there's terms and conditions for how the arms we give other nations are to be used. So I saw it more against the actions of the government as a whole. If the dude starting ranting about the economy or whatevs then yeah I'd see that as anti-Biden.

I really liked his political takes, was especially surprised to hear about the recent story of the 10 year old who killed themselves due to bullying. Not that the story isn't important, just surprising to hear it in a college commencement speech.

I believe the prosecution will have the opportunity to redirect after the defense is finished with Cohen, meaning the prosecution's statements will be the actual last thing they hear.

Why is everyone acting like this is almost over? Is the defense expected to only defend through cross examination? Shouldn't there be several days of defense witnesses still to come?

One thing I wonder is, the media really latches on to the Cohen thing because it's the kind of juicy clickbait that the public wants to read, but how much does the jury actually care? It sounds like Cohen's only really testifying to back up the documentary evidence, not to actually prove separate allegations. Blanche is going hard on Cohen probably because Trump ordered him to, because Trump wants to harass his opponents as much as possible, but I'm not sure it's a good defense strat.

Yeah, the political pundits and legal experts I've heard discuss the issue are of a similar mind as you. The jury is actually in the room and they're actually seeing/hearing this. They're the ones who have to ponder questions like "well ok, so they keep talking about how much of a lying shithead scumbag Cohen is, but didn't Trump employ him and had him take care of this whole situation?", "what does this even have to do with all of the facts and documentation outlining what happened?" and "does this discount all the corroboration with the other witnesses?"

I don't think the jury is as dumb and easily swayed by Blanche's bullshit as our media is making it seem with their hysterics over Cohen. Just another example of how fucking shitty our mainstream media has become.

I've not been able to find any confirmation on how many witnesses the defense expects to call, but it doesn't seem like there will be very many if the judge is set on having closing arguments next Tuesday.

They're not legally obligated to. They haven't put forth any witnesses and Merchan declaring a hard date for final statements means they've likely indicated they don't plan to submit any documentation for such.

And as others have pointed out, there's nothing they could even do to help Trump on this.

Most lawyers would do so because they're trying to win the case, Trump's defense team is trying to get a hung jury.
