Currently it is Hollow Knight for me. If that counts, as it is a Metroidvania with Soulslike elements. Otherwise, Lies of P is my favorite and that definitely counts. About to beat it btw.

I still need to play the Nioh series, Salt and Sanctuary, and Blasphemous (I know that is in the same boat as Hollow Knight).

What say you?

I haven't played too many.

Tails of Iron is pretty cool (side-scrolling Redwall + Soulsborne).

I've also played a few minutes of Lies of P, and I liked its aesthetic.

I don't think I have actually played any. I love the art in Blasphemous though. And I plan to play Lies of P soon.

Does Enclave count as a souls-like? Because that was one of my favorites on the OG Xbox.

Code Vein I guess. Nioh is the only other one I played, and it was bad. People says Stellar Blade is one but it absolutely is not.

Nioh was ok.

Nioh 2 has great character creation but I just didn't get into it.

Remnant 2 is fun and good for coop.

Code vein is good, 3d anime style with lots of character customization. Also great for co op.

Kinda interested in the Remnant games. Shooter Soulslike

The closest thing to a Soulslike I've played is Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor. Which I hear both are more along the lines of Sekiro than Souls

They are, just not as hard. Mechanically they are, other than skills instead of stats (like Sekiro).

Lies of P for sure

The Surge 2 was pretty awesome, huge improvement over the first one. And that Iron Maus quest was great, you can just send the guy to his death lmao

Super Smash Bros

I actually liked Lords of the Fallen more than Lies of P, especially after they fixed some of the issues. It actually feels truer to a Soulslike IMO because it best emulates DS1 -- the interconnected areas, getting very, very lost at specific points in the game and not knowing where to double-back, and of course... comically obscure NPC questlines.

Blasphemous or Hollow Knight if that counts.

In terms of 3D, I guess Another Crab's Treasure. I haven't gotten around to too many non-FromSoft ones.

Heard such mixed things about Lords of the Fallen.

Almost every Souls fan thinks Lies of P is great. Get off the fence

Lies of P is great

I like Thymesia. It's more of an indie soulslike game, and it plays like a mix of bloodborne and Sekiro. I just wish it was longer and had more areas.

How difficult is Hollow Knight?

I also liked Code Vein, but it's an acquired taste for sure lol. I don't think it will be for everyone.

By contrast something like Lords of the Fallen is much closer to a Souls game for me than Nioh. It's awful, but it's much more evoking the feel that I seek out when my brain tells me its in Souls mood.

I get what you are saying but there are very few games that tick every box. Nioh is on every Soulslike list.

Gotta be the Nioh series. Fell in love with Nioh 1 all the way from the alpha test on PS4 years ago. I love how fast paced it is. I'm currently playing through Nioh 2 with a friend and in our downtime, I've been replaying Nioh 1 on Steam since I haven't beaten it (beat it on PS4 years ago, but my PS Plus expired last month so I doubt I could retrieve my save) but made it much further than I thought. Was only a couple missions away from the final region. And now I'm at the final region on Nioh 1 again. I think I stopped playing it on Steam a couple years ago.

Havent played any as far as I know, but by reputation, easily Lies of P.

Absolutely.

Biggest piece of advice if you do play it is to break it up into episodic chunks; the game ends each episode with credits and the next episode will start with "Previously on Alan Wake..." and a TV show style recap so breaking it up into those chunks works really, really well.

I do own Nioh and I did briefly play it a few years back and found it too hard. I am kind of embarrassed about that and need to give it another try. This is before I played most FromSoftware games.

Nice. Gonna buy. Trying to not waste money, but even my wife says to get it for $10

I've only played the demo of Lies of P, but I liked what I saw. I plan to get it at some point, just got too many games to play right now. Steelrising might be the next Soulslike I play since I tried it for like 10 mins last month on my PS5 but didn't play further than that since I knew my PS Plus was about to expire. Luckily, I got it from Humble Bundle this month.

I did play Mortal Shell and liked it. Pretty short game though. I found the mechanic of items getting better the more you use them extremely interesting and pleasant. Encourages to not hoard.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order briefly made me extremely interested in the Star Wars franchise lol. I still need to play Survivor though. Especially since my biggest complaint (lack of Fast Travel) was resolved in the sequel.

I forgot about Code Vein. I liked it, but didn't finish it. Probably made it halfway through. I was playing through it with a friend and it's hard to get him to finish games unless he REALLY likes them lol (and even still, its a tossup on if he'll finish them).

But yea, hands down, I absolutely love the Nioh series.

Nioh and Nioh 2 by far

I played a good 6-8 hours of Code Vein and just didn't like it very much.

Lords of the Fallen OG was okay but didn't have enough of a hold on me that I wanted to finish it. Hopefully the reboot is better. I'll play it some day.

Also tried Mortal Shell, simply hated it lol.

Nioh 1 didn't click for me but Nioh 2 did. I nearly made it to the end but I just got burnt out by all the damn loot.

Rise of the Ronin looks ok, just the loot is putting me off. Same with Wo Long.

I have yet to try any of the sidescroller or top-down Soulslikes such as Tails of Iron, Hollow Knight, or Death's Door, although they're all sitting in my backlog from PS+.

Lies of P is the only one that I've really liked so far, and I'm glad they're making a sequel. I just got to the barren swamp boss and stopped last night before going into its arena for the first time.

Fromsoft really has a strong grip on the genre as far as I'm concerned. Nobody does it better.

Lies of P absolutely clears.

My game list is now longer. Not sure if I should be happy about that or not.

Genuinely whats wrong with stellar blade lol? I loved it. Its basically babies first souls like.

Not sure what's souls-like about Stellar Blade other than it has a bonfire system that replenishes estus.
