I normally don't have a problem finding at least one person to watch a movie with but this time I have no one I know in real life that wants to watch Furiosa with me. Not my coworkers, friends, or family. Most of them rather watch Garfield or If instead of Furiosa. I only had to do this one time (Everything Everywhere All At Once, and it was fucking fantastic), but it felt awkward as hell. I don't know, maybe I'm letting it get to me or something.

I've seen a bunch. I used to work at a theater and would often have to screen prints to make sure there was nothing wrong with them.

I used to work near a movie theatre. I'd regularly take a long lunch and go catch a matinee. There'd only be like 2 other people there and they were almost always also there by themselves as well

Frequently. I used to work a job that wasn't a regular 9-5 so I'd just go on a random Tuesday afternoon if there was something I didn't think my friends would want to see. I'm currently unemployed after moving cross country and my girlfriend is way too busy to go with me so I still do it. There's been a bunch of good movies recently so I've been going at least once a week.

Nope never. For me, part of the fun of going to the theater is having someone else there with me, so we can talk about the movie after. So if no one wants to go, I just don't go. No judgement on people that have gone alone though

Yeah, but now I can't remember what it was. Might have been How to train your Dragon, but pretty sure it was something else.

The only weird part is that the theater staff noticed I was alone, and mid movie they came in and started cleaning anyways. I was more confused than annoyed.

There's an independent theater in town that shows old or indie movies. I've been there a dozen or so times, and I don't think I've ever not gone alone.

Yes, I went to see 300 but my two friends weren't 17 yet so they were going to buy tickets to something else and sneak in. But they were dumbasses and picked some movie that no one would believe 16-year-old boys would see and broke under the slightest of pressure from the ticket person.

I've avoided doing it because I thought it would be weird. I've always seen theaters as you go with a group or someone else and eventually I stopped caring and realized its just like watching television in my house. I don't care about going alone and probably prefer it because its easier to pay attention to the movie.

I did this all the time in my early 20's when I was in the military and still lived on the ship. When you got a chance to be done for the day you left incase anything happened the wouldn't put you back to work with the duty section.

Local theatre on base (biggest Navy base in the world) had movies for a couple bucks. It was really air conditioned well in the summer, dark, relaxing. I'd go and rewatch movies just for the chance to relax. i watched literally every movie that came out. I'd go there 3 or 4 times a week.

But honestly if I had more money, I might start seeing movies by myself. Then again going to the movies is something I only do on special occasions. Wouldn't want to go to several in a year.

I think the last film I saw with anyone was Episode 9 with my mum, as we've watched all the movies from Episode 1 together. Pretty much all the others I go by myself.

Mostly in my 20s... was traveling by myself with nothing else going on one night and a nearby theater was playing something I wanted to see.

Decided that anytime I wanted to see a movie, but had no one to go with, I could just pretend to be traveling solo. Literally no one notices or cares.

Then saw a bunch of movies in repertory theaters. And that's the beauty... you can see a movie without bothering with anyone else's agenda, preferences, or schedule. You just go.
