-10 is whatever. Wear a hoodie inside, wear a coat outside. 110 degrees is impossible to survive in though. AC inside is fine, but as soon as you step outside your skin will start to smell like fried bacon... Because it is fried bacon at that point.

I've been in -40 degree and it's fine, man.. but 110 degree is an insult to humanity and the only ones who enjoy it are lizardmen.
Coldest I ever saw was -30 and it was nowhere near as unbearable as this ridiculous heatwave.

Confirm, and Im an albino that would fry like an egg in the sun at any heat. I hate having to wear sleeves, and most of the time when its not hot, its too cold to not have a jacket and too hot to have one.

During the polar vortex I shoveled the driveway with a winter coat over a sweatshirt over a T, baggy jeans over sweatpants, 2 pairs of socks, gloves, a hat and a hood over my head and it was fine. That was far below -10.

110 though just sucks.

I ride my bike all year round. The warmest I've ever ridden in is 106. The coldest is -5. The -5 I was so bundled up in layers I didn't really feel the cold. The 106 there was nothing to do but grin and bear it.

-10 is a little fun with the right boots, socks, jacket and snow pants. Just laying in a pile of snow.

110 degrees is no fun at all.

110 in Arizona is fine, but in humid places it's unlivable so I'd take the cold

Both of those are good in my book.

What i dont want is 5-15C and a shit load of rain (thats 40 to 60 for your americans)

Either of the 2 temps listed here means no rain where i live (ofc thats assuming the temps even go that extreme, 110f = 43C and the highest my country has ever had is 36,6c, the -23c has happened tho) and id love that.

Wrong.

Cold weather > hot weather.

Normally I'd agree since it's easier to get warm through bundling up. But I don't think that would help at -10

Hell wearing thermals a pair of pants a t shirt a sweater cover alls and a jacket didn't help me much in 14 degree weather.

I've intentionally worn a leather jacket in 100 degree weather and walked 2 miles like that once though

Huge fucking deny. I live in an area that will regularly hit -30 or worse windchill every winter with consistent below 0 normal temp and its always WAY better than hot and humid weather. Not even close.

No bugs in the winter, no mowing grass and yard work, no wrath of god thunderstorms with high winds, lightning, hail, and tornadoes that wipe a town out consistently. We get more tornadoes than anywhere in the US where I live.

Even ignoring all that just based on temp alone its super easy to stay warm in the winter meanwhile its legitimately impossible at times to stay cooled off. Fuck the heat and humidity.
As someone who lives in the same state, I agree with everything you just said.

I prefer cold weather over hot weather, if I am cold I can just put more layers of clothes.

Remember this some people might be more resistant to the cold or heat.

With the heat, you can still go outside, get some sun and then go in your car and turn on the A/c. It's still very beautiful out.

With the cold, it's dark and depressing. Sure you can bundle up, but that's not even the main problem. The biggest issue I have with the cold is the snow and ice. Having to shovel snow once a week or more is ass. Then having to deal with the snow and ice on the road while driving is also ass. There's not much to do outdoors when it's really cold, too. If you're not near any hills, there's no snowboarding. It's just endless snow and cold - you basically have to stay inside most of the time. 110 degrees is hellish, but at least you can go to the beach or the ice cream store and cool off while checking out babes wearing almost nothing.
You definitely don't want to be outside during +110F
Not even most living things like birds or lizards will want to be outdoors for that long, like if you ever went hiking during a heat wave the first thing you will notice is how barren everything seem to you. No mountain lions, no coyotes, nothing except maybe a vulture flying high in the air.

You can bundle up, there is no amount of clothing or protection that makes 110 degree weather comfortable.

You dont. Youre supposed to stay inside with the AC. But at least I wouldnt have to worry about my car's battery or having so many layers just for a quick supermarket run.

People has to go out for many things such as work, buying essential from supermarket, visit friends/family, etc.
There are times going outside is necessary.

So AC won't help all the time, while wearing many layers of clothes helps any time.

Heater the same, that won't help all the time.

I live in Florida. When it gets to triple digits with the humidity that we have, stepping outside feels like a wet blanket. It's hard to think or do anything.

I can cuddle inside with blankets and my wife when it is really cold. Not really anything you can do when it is really hot besides overly blast the AC, but if you have to even run an errands, start sweating like crazy.

In places that regularly get that cold, salt is used and not a big deal.

It is when it drops to 30 degrees after raining that you have to worry

Salt messes up the roads. Michigan has to fix the roads like every 2 years. We also have like the most expensive car insurance.

Heat is easier to handle if you are only outside for 5-10 minutes. I dread even stepping outside for a second when its that cold. That said, if you are going to be outside for any extended duration cold is easier to handle.

Kind of this. But since outside in this context is only going to mean between your house and your car and between your car and various businesses in a lot of case, its a no brainer for me.
