Pretty sure shes admitted to some substance abuse problems too so there is likely a mental aspect to it, Hollywood pressure, etcbut chuds are upset because she isnt their preferred visual candy now so of course she is going to try to lie it off.

I never understand what they hope to accomplish by doing this. Anyone who likes the show is gonna keep watching it. Its going to stay successful, and anyone with an IQ above the single digits can tell the reviews are nonsense.

It's because they have spent so long convincing themselves of the very real and imminent threat of Cancel Culture that they legit believe it's a thing and that they can cancel stuff they don't like.

Yup. Frenchie being bi is like the least surprising thing ever. Although I do think his current relationship is just a ploy to prolong the obvious love tension between him and Kimiko.

I said this in a different thread but they already explored him and Kimiko getting together last season and it was uncomfortable for both of them. I see them as having more of a sibling relationship

The show has essentially taken off the kid gloves with the satire and is now going all in. So now even the dumbest of the chuds are finally catching on

I actually didn't think of that. I had been viewing her as a parody of Alex Jones.

Though come to think of it, those 2 are essentially the same person. MTG is basically Alex if Alex was a female and held a political position.

There is some mad cope going on from chuds who are trying to say the show used to make fun of both sides, but it never really did. They only thing I can really think of is how it makes fun of corporate liberalism with things like Voughtland, but thats a critique of right wing corporations trying to appeal to youth for a quick buck, not a critique of liberalism itself

I would argue it does make fun of both sides but both sides are not the same and there really isn't as much ammo to use against liberals.

Not just them, even the traditional homophobic right-winger rarely says anything bad about gay women, whenever they express disgust it's always cause of dudes kissing on screen and never when women do it unless they're super bigoted under the justification of religion, then they have a higher chance of applying the disdain equally cause they see them as sinners they think their god wants them to wish death upon in some eternal battle of good vs evil, and not just "icky".

It's not just because homosexuality is "icky": homosexuality perceived by society as an inherently feminine trait. Feminity in people who are already feminine is expected and more acceptable. Personally, I hated the season 3 finale so much I just swore the show off. Everything in the "real world" effecting the finale made the show nearly unwatchable for me. I loved the season up to the finale but the finale was so bad! Which sucks because I only think it's partially the fault of the writers/producers.

For things that aren't their fault; it seems the actress behind Maeve was so over this roll and didn't even want to be there. Besides the last episode every scene she was in was either a hotel room or a poorly redressed hotel room! So when she was able to start hurting Homelander 1 on 1 after a few months of body weight exercises that didn't seem right!

For things that are the writer's fault; the Trump and Covid parallels are hurting the story they set up. In the first two seasons we have established the media is not to be trusted. We learn that superheroes have friends in high up places and everything we've been led to believe is wrong. However, in the Trump/Covid parallels they're having Homelander say "Don't believe the fake news media!" The media that has been lockstep with him all the way until the midpoint of season 3? There was an entire deep state symbiotic relationship between Supes and the Government but now there just isn't?

In being so eager to make a satire of the real world events happening now, which are already aging poorly, they sacrificed making a satire of Comic Book heroes in general! All that being said, still better than the Brit's original comic book.

What Covid parallels are you talking about? The rest of your criticisms make perfect sense for where the story is now.

I'm pretty sure once Starlight went public with the truth they lost a lot of media support.

Uh one of the major plots of season one was Vaught trying to establish as stronger relationship with the US government. That's why they created super terrorists.
