I don't get why SC and DoA never reached the fame that Tekken did among 3D fighters among competitive fighting games. Are they really that shallow compared to Tekken? Would've thought that they'd be a good medium for players who didn't like the juggle aspect of Tekken.

Literally everybody has been telling Namco what they want out of a Soul Calibur game's single-player mode but they won't listen

They also removed the special traits and stats from the weapons so they're just collectible skins now, which feels really lame

Yea, I was really disappointed when I found that out with the newer games. I really liked the weapons having special attributes.

Hilariously, the third and fifth games were the ones responsible for what the SC series became to be. SC3 biggest hurdle was the fact that the Character creation ate up soo much of their budget they only had enough room for one console and they decided on PS2 because the majority of the userbase was on there, even though the GC version was the best selling version of SC2. Oh and no guest character. SC5 was almost the death of the series because of all the questionable decisions they made and barely having any content. Though I'll argue, out of all the SC games, it had the best mechanics gameplay wise.

The last SC game I played was 2 on the GameCube. I didn't play it nearly as much as I did the first SC game on Dreamcast.

I still miss Cassandra's 5BA from SC2. 3 and on changed it from a slash/overhead kick that forced crouch to a slash/mid kick. I just licked the way SC2's version looked. I also liked Ivy's mobile stances. Way more versatile than what she got 3 and on. Movement and spinning was intimidating.

I mained Taki because I love Ninja types. Hated Natsu's personality in SC5 though, but still had to use her.

SC6 was successful and exceeded Bandai Namco's expectations, but Harada says that as all the higher ups involved in the series' development have left the company, there's simply no one left to take the initiative in making a new game. Conversely, Tekken is Harada's baby and his position in the company means he can basically guarantee the series will continue.

I never played 1 or 3, and I only played 4 long after its launch, just a little bit to get myself re-acquainted with the franchise right before 5 came out. It was meh. But I bought both 5 and 6, and I loved both of them, despite 5's annoying roster omissions. 2 is still the peak of the franchise though. It'll never be topped.

Also, Ezio Auditore in 5 is the most fun that I've ever had with a guest character in the entire franchise, and I've never even played an Assassin's Creed game. His fighting style was just that damn fun. It was to the point where he became my main (since best girl Talim wasn't in 5) and I used a save editor to put his fighting style on a few created characters because the game wouldn't let you use his style on created characters normally.
