I don't agree Biden was the best shot

Sitting president isn't an advantage when stuff isn't going well. A big thing is inflation is SUPER noticeable now and most people aren't going to fact check whether Biden or Trump actually caused it or not and are just going to blame Biden for it because it's escalated a lot in the past 4 years (and imo rightly in some regards though COVID hitting on election year and it distorting a lot of things makes it a bit hard to pinpoint where the blame sits)

I don't think this is historically true tbh. Things have to be much worse than they are pr wise for sitting president to not matter

Yes, Trump was the one who made the deal! It was basically a surrender; we withdrew and got virtually nothing in return. All Biden did was implement it.

This is like the 5th time Trump has brought up Afghanistan.

I just want Biden to throw it back at him and say that it was Trump who committed to a hard pull out from Afghanistan. Trump's administration declared the Afghanistan withdrawal in February 2020 which had to be completed by May 2021. Despite this over the next 11 months there was little to no preparation or plan devised by Trump's administration to facilitate that withdrawal giving the incoming administration 4 months to execute a promise that his administration made.

The Afghanistan withdrawal should be an anchor around Trump's neck and he's being allowed to use it as a weapon.

I fucking hate theAafghanistan narrative because despite the fact the withdrawal was not perfect, it is hard to imagine a scenario where we got out of there in a cleaner manner.

Staying at all was a risk and the longer we stayed the bigger risk to our troops.

For what was basically a long lost war.

Getting out was the most successful thing we'd done in Afghanistan since the beginning. But no one is willing to say it.

I don't get the people who keep saying that things are awful because we have moderately high inflation. There's way worse things that can and have happened.

There's also Russia/Ukraine, Israel/Hamas, and China/Taiwan tensions getting a lot of news coverage.

Especially looks bad for us as we're sending a lot of aid for those while the economy is suffering.

Like I'm not saying factually it is the worst but perception feels the worst of any president in my adult life including Bush Jr who at least had 911 to rally the country behind him with. That combined with Biden feeling very old (not because he has a cold, in general he has a lot of sad showings in the past few years) to me I think Democratic voters would be more excited for a non Biden candidate.

I guess we'll see-- I think incumbents having a huge advantage is going to be a thing of the past in our lifetimes. Information moves differently now and I think that'll affect the incumbent advantage. We just haven't noticed much because Obama was a good president. (2008 is about when the speed of information ramped up-- wouldn't have affected Bush Jr as much)

that golf debate was...embarrassing for all involved.

Literally the one time the moderators didn't have control was when Biden and Trump were arguing back and forth about what Biden's handicap was in golf....you can't even make this stuff up how crazy this is.

That last exchange where Trump still only conditionally said he would accept the results (of the next election) and Biden called him a whiner who fundamentally snapped when he lost was pretty good.

Hey now, being a moderate does not mean you feel superior to either party. I hate that mischaracterization of moderates. It's not a crime to side with different parties on different issues or God forbid judge each issue on its own merit rather than just blindly following the party line.

Not true. You could think they're both awful. The important thing is that you think they're equally awful, which is certainly an odd thing to brag about with Trump as one of the options.

I would be curious if people would rather see Hillary than Biden. I would actually vote Hillary this time if she was here. (Voted Gary Johnson last time)

As it is I'm probably gonna throw my vote away on third party again. Might vote Biden and gamble on him dying though. I don't believe for a second Trump is more likely to die in office than Biden cause I have eyes.

On the plus side I bought puts on Truth Social stock and market thought he lost the debate so thats cool (hopefully it sticks)

Do you? Cause Trump is old and obese.

To be clear, I was never saying it's okay not to vote. It is important to vote in this election, and specifically, its important to vote for either Trump or Biden because a third party vote is basically not voting, though of course, there's always more than just the presidency to vote for on the ballot.

A second Trump term will drastically and irreversibly alter the course of America for the rest of our lifetimes.

Whether the country survives or not.

Trump is not obese in a way that is concerning.

I mean he probably has a slightly higher risk of a heart attack or stroke but Biden comes off as immunocompromised and brittle at this point.

Also I wish everyone who didn't want to vote because they didnt like the candidates voted third party we might actually see competition. Yes it's throwing away a vote but if I support the candidate it's a message I'm OK with throwing my vote for to support.

I may really dive into Biden's health as a legitimate research point this year though. If I can determine his death odds seem high enough I'll vote him enthusiastically.

I've seen plenty of fatter 80+ year olds. He's unlikely to die from "obesity" complications in the next 4 years.

Biden doesn't seem physically healthier to me. He seems literally immunocompromised. He gets sick a lot and has slow recovery times. Seems physically weak while sick which is often.
