So is anyone suing to get an emergency injunction against this, or...?
Yes. They've already announced intent to file suit though I do not know if they've actually done so.

That...is not what has been said, and the point is entirely flying over your head if that is what you got out of what people are saying.

That is absolutely what you and others have said in posts 154, 158, 167, among others.

Again, not a single one of those posts said people were so poor that they couldn't afford water. Even if you follow the string of quotes back to what was being commented on, it wasn't about water. It was about the difficulties of voting for the less fortunate. About how voting early isn't always so easy. Your tone about their difficulties being dismissive of their woes. Even in other posts about the water thing, people didn't say they were too poor to afford it. At least not that I can see anyone saying that.

Hold up.

My post #158:

Because that's when they can do it, my dude.

In no small part because of all this bullshit voter suppression that you're handwaving.

Control + F: "poor"

Fuck-all results found.

And if you follow the string back even further, it started because I said the water ban was only a minor inconvenience. Then y'all jumped down my throat for it. And no you didn't literally say "too poor to afford it" that was just a stand in for your far more vague and presumptuous "you have no idea what it's like being so unprivileged that water bans are a significant deterrent."

Sure, I don't know what that's like, but this isn't about that extremely narrow subset of people who I said should be voting by mail anyway. This is and has always been about early in-person voting being the best way to fight against the voter suppression being perpetrated here.

There's been far too many times in this state that people have been turned away on election Day because there was a problem with their voter registration and they didn't know. Or they wait for election Day and there's a storm or some shit. Intimidation gangs also are far more active on election Day so you're some black guy pulling up to a voting location and the first thing you see are 20 white rednecks dressed in CSA crap with open carry AR-15s having lunch outside that aren't even from your county.

The water is literally a drop in the bucket.

So neither I nor anyone else said they are too poor to afford water. Nor was it even implied. You aren't arguing in good faith. You're upset that there was any push back at all on your dismissiveness. Vague and presumptuous? I'm a poor black man that has seen how hard they make it for us to vote. I'm not being presumptuous. I live it. Closing early polling locations, limiting staff, limiting drop off box locations, limiting the time you get to go to those places. Not being able to get time off to go to those places that can be very far out of the way. Trying to ban people helping those that can't get a ride. At least on voting day, as long as you are in line before polls close, you will still get to vote and it will(should) be counted.

I don't see anyone saying don't try to vote early if you can. Nor anyone saying not to make sure if you have to vote by mail to insure that it is counted. That's not something anyone is pushing back against. You bring it up as if someone is saying otherwise. That's why I said you are being dismissive and deflecting away from the complaints being made. Again, people are simply talking about the shittiness of the laws that Republicans put forth.

There is no argument there. I have never once denied the water ban was a shitty thing along with every other law or non-law the Republicans use to suppress votes. All I ever said that, when compared to everything else you've listed & everything else I've listed & everything in this fucked new law Kemp signed, the water ban literally doesn't even register on my thoughts until someone posted the link reminding me that it existed. It's not a hand wave or dismissal. It's just triage at this point. And after all that, we still haven't gotten into blatantly illegal voter suppression that Republicans are happy to look the other way on. Like destroying ballot boxes / their contents, physical threats, private vandalism, actual violence, and so on.

It's just fucking bizarre to me that all this shit can be going on and my statement about the water is the controversy.

States like Georgia are precisely where Republicans are at their slimiest and most dishonest, since cheating will often be the only way they can win.
