Belgium announced it was dropping out of the raceafter one of its triathletes, Claire Michel, has fallen ill, its National Olympic Committee said in a statement. The statement did not specify Michels illness, which was reported days after she swam in the River Seine during the womens triathlon on Wednesday. The BOIC and Belgian Triathlon must unfortunately announce that the Belgian Hammers will not be starting the mixed relay at the Paris Olympic Games tomorrow. Just because it's the Paris 2024 Olympics, doesn't mean every event has to be held there. Use common sense for a change and protect the athletes, who trained their whole lives for this moment of competing at the highest level and representing their country.
