Well it's DC so either anything on/near the Mall or the Pentagon

For Chicago, I'd recognize Willis Tower most of the time, but if I saw the Marina Towers randomly in a movie set in whatever city they claimed I would know for a sure that it was filmed in Chicago

When I lived in Chicago I was closer to the lakeshore and North of downtown so the Hancock building was more my skyline anchor.

My current commute from Portland to Vancouver Wa makes Mt. Hood the most striking. St. Helens peeks over the hills in certain vantages. Cant see Mt. Adams from Vancouver though.

Live in NYC.

25 years ago it would've been either the Twin Towers or the Empire State Building.

Even 20 years ago after 9/11, it would've been the Empire State Building.

Now? One WTC doesn't have as symbolic or noticeable a design as the twin towers did, and while the Empire State Building is still iconic, it's lost a bit of its status since it's now only the 8th tallest building in NYC, as opposed to the 2nd. It also doesn't help that a lot of the billionaire's row skyscrapers that are taller than the Empire State Building are also pretty close to the Empire State Building.

So now...I think I'll say that the most iconic thing in the city is probably the Brooklyn Bridge. Though other skyscrapers obscure the Empire State Building's status in the city...the other bridges built since the 1900s don't come close to the Brooklyn Bridge's level of iconic-ness

Unless you count all of Times Square as a landmark, which it still is.

I honestly had no idea Empire State Building wasn't the tallest anymore. Didn't even realize the WTC was finished, let alone that massive.
I'm really bad at time.

Chicago I think most people will tell you Sears Tower or maybe Hancock, or maybeeee Buckingham Fountain, but for me, it's either Marina City, the Cain Communications one or maybe the Chicago Theatre marquee.

Minneapolis there's the Grain Belt sign, the mills, the river itself, Spoonbridge (the spoon and cherry thing) or maybe like the Target building?
