I had to do it though, it was in my bedroom at night. I hit it with the fly swatter and I initially thought it dropped but it simply clung on the swatter. I thought it died so I put it into the toilet but turned out it was alive and started struggling in the water. It was too late for second thoughts so I flushed it... but it didn't go down and somehow had the energy to swim past the force! It was just twitching at that point though. A second flush had it finally disappear. I feel like a villain.

Being civil and still...until you fall asleep.

There are alternatives to killing.

You could put it in a box or something and release it outside.

Sometimes sparing even a tiny life can matter.

I was bitten by one when I was 10. I've had a vendetta against them ever since. You sent it back to hell where it belongs.

Yeah I couldn't risk it. I'm even fine with them in the living room and kitchen as long as they're in the corner but not in the bedroom or bathroom. They've been nice to me the past few years rarely coming into the private rooms but this one overstepped the boundaries. Especially since it wasn't a web weaver but a traveler.

I know. Unfortunately, as I'm made myself be fascinated by them, I'm arachnophobic so even just getting near it to swat it takes a lot of effort. I was someone who always yelled for my parents to do something about them when I was a kid.

i usually save spiders and put them back outside or just let em chill in the corner
they pay their share of the rent with the bugs they catch

No, don't do that, most house spiders live their whole lives indoors and couldn't survive if placed outside.

In general I don't mind spiders, but, they are all over the parking area in my apartment complex and I got spider shit all over my car.

lol I kind of tell myself this when I have to kill a spider. It needs to stay out of visibility of my private areas to live.

It's ok. I got a bunch of bug spray in my room. Insects rarely come in and when they do they die. Although unlike spiders I don't allow insects in my other living spaces either unless it's at least butterfly size and can fly out an open window. Besides mosquitos which are insta-death too.

Yeah I immediately thought of that afterwards lol. Glad I live somewhere chilly.

I've killed so many insects tho not as much as a pest control person ofc. I didnt start feeling bad about it till later in my life

Spiders aren't civil. They trash up the place with their damn webs and don't even bother with cleaning up after themselves when they're done with it. The only critters I leave alone these days are house centipedes.

I had a spider chilling on my porch wall.

I could have just ignored it and fed my dogs, but the girl is trained to eat spiders and she loves it.

I've had 2 (now suddenly a 3rd) spiders living in my restroom for a few weeks and I don't know how they're surviving because I have not seen any dead bugs around where they hang out.

You shouldn't feel bad about killing bugs. They're supposed to be killed. That's why they make fly swatters & bug poisons.

I try to spare everything except the brown spiders, but sometimes there are accidental casualties.
