Watched it for the first time. I heard it was bad. I ended up really enjoying it.

The main complaints I heard were that the kids dont do enough(not true, Jackjack is basically half the B plot, and the kids have a big bit in the climax.). That there wasnt enough action (not true), and that the villain was predictable and had a dumb motive.

I actually think the motive makes sense. I do feel frustrated a lot, and wish people would take action instead of waiting for someone else to come along. I think this is a common feeling older people have, so it makes sense. The only weird thing is that it kind of is a really long game plan for the villain, but it still would have worked.

The only other thing i can think of is people whining about woke, because it has reversed gender roles and colored hair people. And some anti-authoritarian stuff. Which makes sense. Brad Byrd wrote one of the best anti-military movies of all time with the Iron Giant.

So what was the main issue?

It really felt 2deep4u in a lot of places. The dialogue was terrible, particularly a scene between elastigirl and screenslaver

It wasnt bad, it just wasnt as good as the first one.

I just thought it was kind of generic. I also think it made a mistake having no time having passed in universe despite it being like 14 years between sequels

i felt old enough to understand exactly what Bob was feeling. I think he handled it pretty well. I was expecting it to go in another direction when he was angry that his wife got the job and he didnt. Thankfully he actually put effort into parenting and we didnt get the dumb husband and wife bickering trope for the whole movie, and we actually got them growing individually.

Superheroes were both allowed to work again and banned within 24 hours. The destruction of the city was blamed on the family, despite the Underminer being the one destroying it. The hypnosis effect was fucking awful to look at and could trigger seizures, which should have been changed before release (instead they put a warning before the movie, which, if you didn't see, oopsie doodle!)

The movie was prefaced with a "We worked really hard on this movie!" video from the cast, which was already a red flag for me when I saw it in the theater.

If you're able to put aside 6 hours of your time (not all at once, of course) there's a really in-depth series of criticism videos pointing out all the flaws.

It was a political issue. Just like dumb politics we have today. And it feels realistic. They had insurance for the bank, and the heroes ruined it by probably making some part of the contract with the insurance null. You never mess with banks in America. And dumb politics and loopholes was how the first movie started too with the suicide guy suing them.

I will give you the hypnosis thing though. I felt a bit shaken when i saw it the first time,

Oh, and apparently that girl that sounds exactly like Scarlett Johansson isn't Scarlett Johansson.

I literally can't remember anything about it. But I'm sure if I rewatched it would come back to me.

Because releasing a sequel over a decade after the original when the story is supposed to be like 5 minutes afterwards is kind of weird.

It was pretty forgettable. I've only seen it once, but I can't begin to tell you the plot

That's not right. Superheroes hadn't been unbanned. The climax of the first movie was still illegal, but they were given a pass for it since so much death was stopped. The fight with the Underminer was unsuccessful, thus the laws that were still in place were used against the family.

It's a good movie.
My main issue is that it was basically the same plot as the first movie, just with reversed roles. Also, the villain was nowhere near as entertaining as Syndrome.

I suppose that the movies main issue, is that it's automatically compared to the first one, which is definitely a better movie.

This is how I felt about it. I enjoyed it enough, but besides all the other supers (the best thing about the movie, imo) it was sadly forgettable compared to the first one.

I was fine with it, except for the predictability part. But yeah, clearly not as good as the first one.

It's good, but not as good as the first one.
And that means it's bad.
