I don't remember changing any settings but I'm suddenly getting more Twitter notifications pushed to my phone. Half of them are Elon musk just directly pushing Republican fear and propaganda.

It's concerning that something I didn't opt into is being pushed out not just to me, but probably millions of others. This is just the new default.

Either way, this is basically the reason Elon bought Twitter but he's 100% mask off about it now.

And this is perfect for republicans, because for people who don't use social media, when they hear democrats saying "Elon is using Twitter for right wing propaganda" they'll think "oh I guess the shoe is just on the other foot now" not realizing that there is a universe of difference between this and republicans complaining about "liberal bias" on social media.

The "bias" is that more people legitimately prefer progressive policies even when they are portrayed truthfully.

But to them that seems to be exactly the same as unfounded and unproven rhetoric and lies.

I was getting ready to talk about how I don't like the open discussions from the left on the electoral effects of Helen, what with it mostly taking out Republican areas (other than Asheville), but then I saw that "Democrats manufactured Helen as an artificial storm for election interference" was a real thing gaining actual traction and I lost the energy.
