Genocide is not the same as war crimes and crimes against humanity, though. It hasn't been officially and ultimately determined yet by the commissions in charge, whether a genocide is happening in Gaza or not.

It's clear as day that war crimes and crimes against humanity are being committed by Netanyahu and his regime. I totally agree that these two crimes are happening and it must be condemned. I also don't think that their self-proclaimed reason for their actions (to cleanse the area from terrorist organizations like Hamas) justifies their actions. Whether or not it's a genocide by UN standards as it's written in the source above, I can't determine since I'm not an expert in that field.

I'm not taking a side here. I just find it important to know the differences between these terms and to stick to the facts.

I wish Hamas had never done what they did a year ago. And I wish Netanyahu hadn't been president when it happened. I hope that sometime in the future there will come a time when something like peace can be achieved down there...

Well, it's something at least. Doubt it gets them to stop but maybe it'll get politicians thinking a little before they sign off on another arms shipment

The hard part is how you send in an army into an active warzone and not think it sparks a war of its own with its own set of war crimes that come a long with it.

These soldiers committing crimes should be arrested and tried, starting another war isn't the most effective way to do it imo.

And yes Israel is part of the UN

Israel will absolutely declare war with whatever UN power invades with the intent of capturing and arresting their military and civil leadership.

So, which nuclear power do you want Israel at war with? The US? The UK? France? I'd say Germany, but they're behind them about as hard as the US is, right now. No dangerous precedent, there.

But sure, let's jutlst charge in blind and send boots-on-the-ground forces to bring the entire nation to heel. Great plan! By God, makes you wonder why we didn't try this with Russia over Ukraine!

Post WW2 Japan wasn't a nucleInsanity. They were a non-nuclear threat that had already been beaten within an inch of their lives, and still needed two nukes to convince out of sending 95% of their population to die on the battlefield.

What you are suggesting has literally never successfully been done in a post-nuclear-arms world. It's insanity.
