You know, I was going to say how laughable the whole concept of Satan being pure evil is, and that no one could possibly keep it up for over 2 millennia minimum, but then I suddenly thought of Trump and how he's a completely irredeemable piece of shit and his only purpose in life seems to be making other people miserable and realized that maybe Satan or God could easily do it on a daily basis, whether or not they actually benefit from their doings.

Satan was never even really evil. He got cast out of Heaven because he didn't agree with God. God said "Nah, fuck you dude. I'M God, you're just my slave that has to do what I tell you when I tell you. You don't have a choice!"

Then Satan was like "Nah, fuck that dude. I refuse to be your slave."

So God said "Tough luck friend, I used to love you above any other, but now, I cast you out of Heaven so you can suffer for eternity, bitch."

And thus began Satan's conquest for liberation and God's conquest to have everything he wants with no one to resist or question him.

Originally Satan (or literally just "the accuser", satan is not a name) is probably part of Yahweh's divine assembly, and this is how he acts in most of his OT appearances.

Slowly the idea of Satan evolves in the root of all evil in the world, which I understand is largely the result of Zoroastrian influences.

Slowly that turns into the Fallen Angel Lucifer thing, which is immortalized in John Milton's Paradise Lost and which is basically accepted as canon to most Christians for some reason.

But yeah, in any other context in storytelling you would think most people would find it admirable when the underdog stands up against the authority who demands unquestioning subservience and obedience. But in Christianity it's bad, because it's bad. Because Yahweh deserves it. Because he just does ok. Don't think about it.

Modern Judaism is not how Judaism has always been. It was a common belief among everyday Jews during the 2nd Temple that there was an evil power pitted against God. Even the ancient Semitic tribes that the Israelites came from believed there was an evil god named Mot who was pitted against El. He is referenced as Death personified in the Book of Job.

My point is it's a little embarrassing to scream into a void asking for people to agree with your random argument you're having with no one if your mom didn't wake you up to go to church this morning. I mean you could be in your mid 30's and your mom still woke you up to go to church though.

Satan only kills like 4 people in the bible, and all of them God either said "Go ahead" or outright dares him to do it.

This is also nothing new. TC was being antagonistic as well but asked a common question that has been brought up an endless amount of times whenever the topic of contradictions in the bible come up (along with my personal favorite of OT God vs NT God), and from doing this your interpretation is that he's screaming into the void. It's cool that the short story "The Egg" gives a better justification for all of this compared to hundreds pages you have in the Bible. The Bible can't justify rando kids and people being collateral from the actions of an individual or small group of people (relative to human population) fucking up. Sidenote, it's still wild to me that The Prince of Egypt is a kid's movie. Now if we assumed that God's motivation was to create a fellow god-like being in "The Egg" who fully understands the depths of both human suffering and love then it's still fucked up but at least makes sense
