there is a grand total of 2 stories in Halloween. Either its just Michael killing people, or its Laurie is crazy because of trauma from Michael killing people. thats it. And theyve reset this timeline like 5 times just to tell the same two stories again and again and again. Friday the 13th went places. Jason became a zombie. He fought Carey. He went into space. He became a demon that transferred into someone body after a man ate his heart. Like, whether or not you like those movies or not, they fucking went all out with doing something different every time. well. Different from 5 onward at least. 3 and 4 definitely blend together. And 2 forgets half its cast even exists once they go to a bar. but yeah. Michael is so boring. Halloween 1-3 are fun movies, all three for very different reasons Halloween 4-6 are very dull, nothing movies that really drag down the series in my eyes. They feel like absolutely anyone could be doing the killing and the consistently the only person involved that gives a shit is Donald Pleasance. H20 is all right and a bit of a reclamation of series identity. Resurrection immediately returns to boring, ambling bullshit The Rob Zombie movies suck, especially the second one. Halloween 2018 is a very good modern slasher. Halloween Kills is stupid. Halloween Ends is a complete swing at a miss on a somewhat interesting concept. I think of all the big named slashers, Halloween definitely has the most duds. Maybe Hellraiser but I've honestly had way more fun watching the bad sequels than Halloween's long stretches of boredom --- I pray god will curse the writer, as the writer has cursed the world with this beautiful, stupendous creation, terrible in its simplicity, irresistible in truth ...
