I wish. Since we moved away we dont see them nearly as often (thank god). Theyll take it as a slight, and theyll know why. I could get out of it by telling them I have to be on standby for wildfire duty, but my wife cant. And Im not leaving her to suffer through it alone.

what do you stand to gain from doing these things you dont want to do?

Going to be a wonderful Thanksgiving with loved ones, lots of family happy with so many able to get together this year.

Christmas is going to be fun as well since we have a vacation that is happening.

Yeah, I'm not seeing the benefit of being around these people if they make you so miserable.

I gladly don't associate with my redneck peckerwood shit kicking MAGA relatives except the ones I absolutely have to. Fuck em they're dead to me. On that same side I have a cousin who is a lesbian and another cousin who has a black husband and kids. If they don't care about them, then I don't care about the MAGAs.

I admit, as an outside observer who knows barely anything about you, that I could be wrong and my current emotional state is almost certainly affecting my biases, but I don't think they felt any love or care toward you and your partner when they filled out their ballots, just cultish devotion to their false messiah and categorical hatred for whoever Fox tells them to hate.

You know how it is. Were from the same town lol. I dont interact with anyone on either sides of our families except our parents. Especially my dipshit, teen pregnancy cousins who are on their fourth kid. My uncle hates his daughter and essentially forced her to get her tubes tied because she kept switching husbands and having kid after kid while putting the financial responsibility on him. I hate that girl.
