argonautweakend 11/09/24 12:38:04 PM #21:	That is their final album from their original run(disbanded and then one member reunited with different guys for the final 2 albums which arent bad but not nearly as creative as what it used to be) and the sound changed on it. The techincal complexity in the Drumming and guitar and bass are still present as well as the unique thought processes that ties it all together, but American Don sounds more "clean" than previous albums and they introduced looping effects for the first time with amazing results. They dropped from a 4 piece to a 3 for this album, but the looping effects were so well done, you're amazed Ian Williams has a hand in 3+ different guitar parts in a song, as he is the only guitarist. The previous album, What Burns Never Returns is equally as good, but with a grittier more traditional rock vibe, but the weird signatures and innovativeness is also there. It's really which vibe you prefer, not which is better.
