It's really not, what you're saying is just coming from a place of ignorance. Like, it might seem reasonable if you know literally nothing but reputation, but even then you can literally just look at Paul and acknowledge he's a strong young man, and Tyson is a damaged near-senior.

Do you think maybe the matchups in a fight are talked about, theorized, speculated, calculated, bet on, and projected based on the reputation of the two individuals?

Reputation is literally the entire basis of how any fight is talked about until it goes down.

Reputation is meaningless when the age gap is 31 between the 2 fighters. Jake Paul has done a decent amount of training from some of the best trainers in the world while being in his prime.

..for his age!" And it's not a revelation of sorts. That's what it has been since the beginning of the idea being conceived.

Good on those two scheming their pay days, but sheesh the audience really had no better ways to spend their Friday night.

Imagine expecting a 58 year old, who hasnt fought professionally since 2005 and hasnt won two fights in a row since 2000, and who has very well documented health and financial issues, is going to give you anything else besides embarrassment.

But those also factor into the reputation of each fighter too like Tyson is a career fighter and hes also getting older is all in the same talking points.

Except he's 58 and was seen regularly walking with a cane not too long ago and even had his fight in August postponed cause of leg injury.

If Tyson is going to continue doing this he needs to demand shorter bouts. He technically would have won if it was just three rounds.

Wow, I can't believe this was a real boxing match that happened. I heard snippets from it from elsewhere about something going on with Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, but I can't believe it was an actual fight. Seemed kinda stupid of an idea. An old boxer fighting someone far younger, and in better shape and health than him.

Tyson vs Paul fight.

Close enough I guess.

It felt like such a fake fight. It was very much planned and fake.

Like no hits landed. Literally every fight before them was better, as you saw the fighters actually fight for real and progressively got more and more hurt.

Neither Tyson nor Paul had a scratch on them. Just sweaty. It was very obvious they agreed to just put on a show but not actually hurt each other.

Literally the most disappointing fight of the night. The others did better than the main draws.

The fight never made much sense at all anyway. If Paul lost. then he just lost to an old 60 year old retired fighter. If he won, then all he did was beat up an old retired fighter. There was really nothing to gain from this but money.

And Tyson even said he would do it again "under the right circumstances" aka if he can make a lot of money again.

This was a good fight to me. Yeah, I was hoping we get Mike from the training videos but unfortunately, father time is undefeated and he was injured before the fight. He obviously wasn't fighting at the level he was training at because of his knee or leg or whatever. It's what happens when you get older, you get injury prone. Also, hake was a fuckin coward and didn't at least try to match blow for blow. Dude kept running away until Mike was gassed. The. Proceeded to take the coward away out and just score points to win. Sure Mayweather did that later in his career but he earned that. Honestly, he should have just went for the knock out. Would have been more respectable that way, then he possible could have caught a knock out Tyson blow. But in the end, Tyson lost because Jake was younger. We all win cause we got to see Mike again and people who are comparing about boring just weren't looking for the right things.

Watched the Tyson fight this morning since Netflix wasn't being cooperative last night. Went about as I expected it.

As a long time boxing fan, Im honestly okay with these circus show fights if they're paired with the kind of things we saw in the second and third match ups. Those kind of fights will bring people back to watch the sport. If Paul is going to expose people to excellent fights and hopefully create more boxing fans because he's good at creating hype, then more power to him.

He's only had 10 fights, and two of them were against YouTubers. He did get legit training growing up, and has had a handful of professional bouts.

Bro, you must not know anything about boxing if this was your take.

Jake Paul 100% could have knocked Tyson out but didn't. He is extremely aggressive as a fighter and if he rocks you he is very good at following up and going for rhe kill, yet rocked Tyson multiple times and just never went for the kill. Towards the later half Tyson was barely even interacting with him yet Jake chose to go with jabs over his lethal hooks, which Tyson was struggling to consistently block and did dmg most of the time, even when partially blocked.

I honestly respect Jake for not doing it, as giving an old man brain injury when he's a legend, has a lot of pre-existing conditions, and is just there to collect a pay check would make him look bad, but everyone who knows anything about boxing could tell Tyson was exhausted and barely engaging after the 3rd round while Jake had energy for days and had he followed up anytime Mike was rocked, he would have been in a lot of trouble.

I don't think the fight was "fixed," persay, just once Jake was confidant he could win without knocking Tyson out and could tell his gas tank and power were gone, he clearly started taking it easy on him and people who watch boxing and his previous fights could tell.

Tyson was definitely paid to lose and not give it his all.

Jake Paul needs to fight someone who isn't past their prime and won't lose on purpose.

or stop being a wimp and fight someone in UFC in the octagon.

I'd pay to watch any top guy from UFC knock Jake the fuck out.

Him and his brother both need to be humbled by a top UFC fighter.
