I think B2/W2 have more stuff, but they also put the daycare in the post-game, so eff that noise. This gen is fun since TMs are infinite-use items -- just as the pokegod intended. I'm open to suggestions of what my team should eventually be. I'm thinking about at least one of my faves (Excadrill, Musharna) and maybe a flyer I don't usually use (Honchkrow), but the others are up in the air. I normally lean toward the fire starter, but it'd be nice to change it up, so I'll pick Snivy this time. He gets two absorption skills and I had fun with my Vileplume doing that earlier, haha. https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/2/22bd370a.jpg --- Take me down from the ridge where the summer ends And watch the city spread out just like a jet's flame ... Just have Servine, Munna and Simipour right now. Latter is my HM slave; middle one is unused at the moment 'cause I want a more defense-oriented nature. Serv has been soaking up all the XP, basically, and cruised all the way through the second gym. If there's gonna be more double battles, though, I should probably get Munna up to snuff. --- Take me down from the ridge where the summer ends And watch the city spread out just like a jet's flame ... Haven't decided on my fire-type minion yet. I'll have to look up what's available in this generation. Hopefully it won't end up like Pokemon Pearl (???) where I was planning my team, only to find out there's only two electric types available or something. Or maybe it was fire then, too. Something like that happened and it didn't make me a happy camper. Vegy posted... Currently seeing if I can find a LV8 Munna with a nature I like. I'd prefer Bold, but could settle for Modest or Calm. Supposing I get one, I'll just put it in my back pocket until I can rush an evolution. A lot of the good psychic moves can be taught with TMs and tutors, I'm sure. EDIT: Third one I caught was LV8, had Bold nature, and had Synchronize. I think it's north of the metropolis I just got to. Looking at the encounter list, there's nothing I want at the moment, mostly because of plans I've made and trying to avoid overlap, but deserts are usually pretty fun to visit (...with water- and grass-types to clean house). If I hadn't picked the grass starter, I might've got that cactus 'mon, actually. The fossils are kinda cool, though. True, I don't really love any of the starters. In the file I saved over, I actually had put Tepig in a box and presumably sharked in some favorites (Steelix, etc.) at LV2, haha. Still, I'd prefer not to resort to stuff like that if I can help it, especially since there are a lot of 'mons introduced in this gen that I do sorta like. Not some of the fighting types, though -- by and large, they're some of the dumbest-looking and least-inspired ones I've ever seen. I mean, a dude carrying a piece of timber...called Timburr? Emboar is one of the only ones who aren't a complete aesthetic embarassment. There's really no better fire option available than Darmitan? I've been needing something for grass and ice types, but I'd prefer almost anything else (I'm having deja vu about using a Zebstrika with Flame Charge on an old file). Hell, I can't even get a friggin' Eevee or something. Looking at the Unova Dex, it seems most are either legendaries or ones I can't get. I mean, there IS that dumb ghost/fire type in the graveyard tower, but it evolves at LV41 and its stat growth is trash, so I'm immediately not interested. In other news, I'm at the ice city and just bought the Thunder TM. Nothing to use it on so far, but it's a little better than the others in my experience.
