spamming last minute shopping and feeding into the capitalist machine. Birth of Christ? Peace and goodwill towards others? What even is that?

You can pick up some very heavy discounts on party food with a bit of late Christmas Eve shopping.

I have a coworker who celebrates Orthodox Christmas, which is 2 weeks later this year. Thats where the bargain shopping comes into play.

Bullshit made up by christians when they co-opted numerous other midwinter traditions in order to subjugate and forcefully convert people.

Every year I uphold my proud tradition of buying gift cards. That way, these people know that I barely know them and Im either too scared or lazy to guess what kind of actual gift they like. Plus, they put in the work of actually getting the gift themselves. Its practically perfect.

You can do the same with Halloween. It doesnt make Christmas special on that regard.

Something weird version of Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer was playing on my way to work today. It went a little like this: Spartan got struck a car making a turn from stop. On his bike ride to work for Christmas Eve. Most people make fun of bikers, but the driver was concerned and not a drama queen.

Kinda weird this did happen lol Also, don't mean to derail the topic, it's just the holiday season tends to stress me and my family out, and something goes wrong

Christmas is a lot more tolerable if you just quit with the presents. or at least quit the physical gifts. share experiences with your loved ones instead of buying forgettable and disposable crap from Amazon. take people out to dinner, go to an event with them, plan a hike, or anything where you enjoy each other instead. those gifts mean so much more and will be remembered longer.

I swear it feels like the 10 days before Christmas, in the Detroit area, there are just people that appear from nowhere. Not even like out of towners just people are just there and everywhere and filling all the space. And then they just vanish. Like around Christmas they have to be shopping and driving all over the place and then after New Years they hermitize and never appear outside their homes.

The only way I could explain the flood of 10s of hundreds of shoppers every 3 hours that just disappear after the holidays when I worked outside at Walmart.
