Yes. Mostly because they weren't the 2020s. Or the 2010s. Or hell, even the 2000s.

I do, but it's more because I was ages 2-12 in those years more than anything else. I think I'd miss whatever decade those years were in.

Yes

Honestly hormones and extreme social anxiety from being on the spectrum during my teens and 20s ruined my life

I was a quiet timid kid in the 90s but more oblivious and didn't care as much

But two things that were awesome about the 90s were the music and the independent film scene.

1996-2000 was an unusually good period in US history.

Im talking cyclical stuff. Obviously things like technology and social progress (at least until very recently) have improved since then.

Yes but mostly just because I was young and healthy. From 90 to 94 was high school years. Good times in my formative teenage years.

From 94 to 99 I was in the U.S. Navy and traveling the world. GREAT time. All in all the entire 90s was fucking outstanding for me. From age 14 to 23. No complaints.

Plus it was just a good time for music and movies though I probably prefer the 80s for movies. Sketch comedy tv in the 90s was top tier though. I didnt use the Internet until I got home in 99 so for me life was pretty much completely free of the internet and before social media took over and people turned into zombies with cell phones. The 90s were pretty fucking great really.

Of course. There was constantly excellent new media coming out of every venue, a sense of hope, and Pizza Hut gave you fucking X-Men videotapes along with the massive pizza and multiple sides you could get, in those plush-ass booth tables, and it was all good, and you spent like 20 for the whole fucking family.

It was the pinnacle of the unsustainable dream of capitalism.

The world was so much better before social media, real friends, and no eBay.i know there was eBay in late 90s but resellers and all stores didnt use it.

plus better music and Blockbusters

also you could work a job at $4.25 an hour snd still support yourself with paying rent, all bills, food and still have money left over for video games, bars and comics

Yes, but for one reason only. My parents were young. They're now in their 60s/70s and are showing their age. I moved back to London just to be near my parents in case they need me, after an episode where my dad split his head open.

I'd love to go back to the 90s, not for me, but just to see my parents be free and happy again.

I'm happy with my life but what hits my heart the most is seeing my mum and dad becoming elderly. When I was 18 my dad used to open a bottle of whiskey for my mates and I. 16 years later I now have to help him up the stairs. We often joke about how he taught me how to use a spoon, and maybe some day in future I'll have to help him use a spoon.

BTW the English drinking age is 18 so nothing is illegal

That depends on what you mean.

Do I miss having dial-up internet? Fuck no.
Do I miss having no money? Fuck no.

Do I miss being a kid with no responsibilities and tons of free time to play games? Fuck yes.
Do I miss being younger than 39? Fuck yes.

If youre asking me if Id time travel my consciousness back into my younger body, probably.

If youre asking me if Id roll back time to the 90s and not remember anything, no.

Not having information overload, anxiety inducing social media, privacy , and having to be able to read to do most things made people smarter.

Of course, having no outlets for abused people, ease of accessing things, having to travel a long distance for one item, and obvious lack of communication between cultures wasnt great.

Yes. I was 30 years younger with my life ahead of me. Not that this life is bad, it's the opposite actually, but not having responsibility outside of graduating highschool and college is great.

What i really miss though:
The music - Hair band ballads, alt rock (more smashing pumpkins and some brit bands, less Nirvana and grunge), hip hop, and the r&b ballads. All we have now is pop and one hit wonder club music.

Less tech - people were actually outside to play. Not force walking to get steps in. You didn't have a tracking device on you at all times too. Having a phone for emergency is great. As a distraction from life...not so much. Social media was the star or inquirer tabloids.

The movies - they would release anything and if it made 40-50mil it was good enough for a sequel. The comedies were funny and people didn't get offended...much. Now if one person has a problem, everyone pretends it's a problem for everyone.
