who the hell is defending brake checkers

I havent seen anyone support brake checking, just seen people say tailgaters are worse.

There is literally people in this topic justifying brake checking on the ridiculous basis that because tailgaters started the reckless driving.

So they may not be outright supporting it, but there's definitely people here justifying it.

On the flip side, I don't see anyone here justifying tailgating. With the maybe a discussion being by some of which is worse? But I think most are arguing it really doesn't matter which is worse, both are reckless driving regardless who started it.

In other words, nobody is, but you bet theyre thinking it?

How do you prove brake checking?

Because unless the brake checker says "yes I brake checked intentionally" there is no way to know why they suddenly put their brakes on, and part of the responsibility of driving is to leave enough following distance to where you can safely stop if the person in front of you comes to a sudden, complete stop.

They do this to try to catch speeders.

I dunno if the radar doesn't work while they're in motion or if it's just a distraction, but they'll tailgate someone they suspect of speeding and read their own speedometer to figure out how fast they're going.

The end result being that it totally fucks up traffic because now the person in the passing lane is slowed down to the speed of the right lane (to stay under the speed limit) and now everyone is bunched up, all because the cop won't back the fuck off
