Like the order is very wrong, tell them to remake it. Have heard many people say they don't do it. Even at a more upper scale place than fast food like an Applebee's or something.

I've only done this a few times, and usually when there's something REALLY wrong with the order.

Like the time I ordered a Moons Over My Hammy from Denny's and there was a piece of plastic in it.

Rarely, I remember sending back 2 burgers from a Mexican restaurant, one time it was way too pink, the other time is had a longgg hair in it.
The Mrs probably does it more often, the only place she can eat is PF Changs and if they don't deliver her food in their dedicated Gluten-Free plate/bowl she won't take any chances and ask for it again.

Applebees is upscale?

Only in the case of they give me entirely the wrong order. Like I order a cheese burger and they gave me a salad instead.

It depends how bad they messed up and if I'm just going through the drive through. Generally I won't unless it's really bad.

If they give me the completely wrong order then of course I will. For issues with the food, I've only ever sent it back once when I got a steak well done that I asked for medium rare.

Never have. But a couple years ago I got Five Guys. I get home, unwrap my burger. This doesnt look right I open it up. Its just a patty with mayonnaise on it and nothing else. No onions, tomatoes, pickles, mushrooms, nothing I ordered and paid for. I was already home and didnt want to drive all the way back over to the other side of town so I just ate it. Last time I ever had Five Guys.

That's an interesting one. With the raw pizza, did you save it and cook it later, or did you just throw it away?

The delivery guy had to take it as proof it was raw

That's good at least, hopefully it didn't just go in the bin but I suspect it may have as they'd have no way of knowing if it had potentially been contaminated or not.

Most restaurants by law have to throw out any food that is sent back unless it can be fixed and given back to the same customer.

It 100% would have been thrown out. Between the risk of contamination and the fact that it would have spent at least a couple of hours at room temp after being prepared, it's just not worth the risk to save <$10 worth of ingredients.

depends on the restaurant or situation. fast food for the most part i wouldn't really care, expectations are low anyway. if i get one less nugget or have to remove tomatoes that i didn't want i'll be irritated but it's really not worth arguing about to me. if i order roast beef and you give me a fish sandwich then wtf are ya'll doin back there?

I won't order from a fast food place in the first place.

At a restaurant I would only send back if it's really bad. Although I will point out if my steak is all gristle because steak is expensive and I'm not paying to chew I'm paying to eat

I'll check to see if I have the right amount of items but I'm not going through each item to make sure they got it right in a drive through

I got the BBQ Bacon Double Quarter Pounder w/cheese recently and they forgot the bacon. I didn't feel like driving back.

Not usually if it's just slightly wrong. I'm not that picky. But if things are left out that i paid for then yeah I will gladly ask for what's missing

If I order food and it's not the food I ordered, then I'm gonna go get the food I ordered. It doesn't hurt the employee and it barely dents the company's bottom line. Whereas, that's my food budget for the day and I'm not gonna let it be ruined by someone else's lack of attention to detail.
