Black is easiest but i do love green tea. The problem is some places put mint in their green tea by default.

I don't think I have ever encountered that (thankfully). Mint tea is pretty nasty.

Nothing, a true English person would never sully an Earl Grey with milk.

Picard, who is French but remarkably English for that, indeed snaps back "nothing!" when asked that very thing on the final episode of TNG. And then discovered that his call for Earl Grey did not really register either, identifying the tea as Darjeeling.

I have on rare occasion added a little honey if my throat was bothering me, but normally don't add anything either. Of course, given that I use tea bags, some would argue I'm a barbarian to begin with.

Now to have a stroopwafel with it, made to melt inside a touch by setting it on top of the hot tea cup for a minute at most, is a Dutchman's prerogative.

Ah yes, the "unknown Shakespearean actor", he could be rather short lol. I must say I had to look this one up as it's been too long since my last watch, it's the exchange in Cambridge with the housekeeper, right? Picard essentially talks to her like he would the replicator.

I don't think that adding honey or lemon is an uncommon practice in the UK, although I don't think I've known anyone personally who does. I rarely use loose leaf tea tbf, tea bags are pretty the de facto type in the UK, unless you're posh. The main thing to remember is to put the tea bag/leaves in first, then add water, only add milk, etc (if needed) once it's finished brewing/steeping. Adding milk first is a kind of a no-no, although it's a contentious topic in the UK. We also find microwaving tea abhorrent (I'm personally not fussed but it supposedly ruins the taste).

I don't drink tea.

Ah yes, personally we Brits love dunking biscuits in tea, such as a bourbon, rich tea, digestive, or hobnob biscuit (yes, those are all real types of biscuits, lol feel free to look them up).

My fiancee, admittedly American, does it (and is delighted if I bring stroopwafels). I prefer my kettle, not in the last place because I am not certain if my favorite mug is microwave proof at all and if it broke, to quote Humperdinck in The Princess Bride, I shall be very put out. When I'm there, I too microwave my tea (well, the water, and then add the bag to the hot water), and found no problem with the flavor. I do use bottled water there though, the flavor of their tap water *does* bother me. I am sure it's harmless but just no.

We had some digestive biscuits imported, and I think I ended up having half of them even though there are four of us.

I wondered why they don't carry them here in the States, and I found out it was an utterly stupid reason: they legally can't sell them here because the word "digestive" is considered false advertising.

I'm referring to the practice of re-heating the tea when it goes cold. Again, my taste is perhaps not refined enough to notice a difference but my mum can pick up on it, and it's generally considered a no-no in the UK.
