It wasn't just "Hey Jobst, this is complicated, becareful how you say X" It was a longwinded detailed deepdive into the case were he blatantly misrepresented Jobst and made incorrect statements without doing the most basic research. He accused Jobst of saying things he never said, ignored things Jirad openly admitted and smugly joked about Jirad suing Jobst while going into longwinded diatribes defending Jirad on subjects no one accused him of. Moon flat out apologized for this, admited fault and deleted the video. It was just a bad video. Edit: Jobst always went out of his way to tell his fans NOT to go after Moon in the video and all the comments he made regarding it. If you don't like Jobst that's fine but why are you lying about things? Like, I can't imagine seeing a youtuber compare the Completionist to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancter Foundation; one of the most infamously bad charities in the US, and read that as a defense of Completionist's actions. Yeah, the videos on the Completionist seemed to start taking on a weird vibe where it was personal attack by Jobst, and it made it feel a bit gross even if the Completionist also wasn't clean in this situation. The videos also started to feel like it was just beating the same points over and over and trying to find evidence for a conclusion he already made instead of letting the evidence find the conclusion. If that makes sense, and I think it came to the detriment of the case they were trying to build on Jirard and his family. --- Up to no good searching for tomorrow Misunderstood when you're headed straight into the flames ... I'll just post the situation in a nutshell for those coming in or are confused. Inform me if I've missed any extra details. Apollo Legend makes a video about Billy Mitchell cheating while exposing corruption at Twin Galaxies. He gets sued and prepares a GoFundMe to help cover legal costs, but after a while, he cancels after consulting with one of the Twin Galaxies lawyers. As such, he refunds everyone's payments and settles out of court with the Billy Mitchell and Todd Rogers videos being removed from his channel. In his last video before his suicide, he says that he's been dealing chronic back pain for years that's taken a toll on him and says that YouTube Drama wasn't the cause of it. Billy Mitchell isn't even mentioned in the video or description. A few months later, Karl Jobst covers the story of the Twin Galaxies lawsuit as an outsider, but makes the critical mistake of accusing Billy Mitchell of being responsible for Apollo Legend's death, giving Billy the means to sue Karl for defamation. While Karl removed the statement from his video (Supposedly he may have put it back up, but who knows, I unsubbed from him a year ago due to him harassing Moon Channel), there was no official retraction. Karl makes a series of videos for 3-4 years, doubling down on the cheating accusations made against Billy during Twin Galaxies lawsuit shenanigans. While the case was solid, Twin Galaxies own lawyer, David Tashroudian was caught by the court by illegally contacting two witnesses without their consent through text message. Rather than risk getting disbarred, they settle out of court, which is bad for Karl as he wanted it to go through all the way so he can deal with his own defamation lawsuit for Billy. Karl doubles down further trying to spin it as a loss for Billy even though everyone knows it was settled out of court. One year later, the courts rule that Karl was acting cocky and arrogant throughout this whole ordeal. As the judge puts it: "Mr. Jobst clearly intended to be the knight who slew the Mitchell dragon. Unfortunately for him, his lance was not as strong as he believed it to be, and it has broken in the contest." TL;DR: He got sued by Billy Mitchell for making false accusations and got cocky and arrogant, refusing to back down and basically grifting for clout and money while obfuscating the truth behind the lawsuit. --- "I'm not getting paid for this part, you're lucky... I was thinking about how he could PR out of this. The absolute worst thing i feel he could do is blame the subs for not doing research, and paint as if "it's not my fault if you believed the case was still about that without doing your research. I clearly stated (once) what was going on!" Suicide. As a sub guilty of that can say he lied by omission, and misdirected the narrative blatantly over the years. As the judge mentioned, if he cared for the truth he would have not double downed on the claims billy made AP pay up. There would be truth to it, but you don't apologize by blaming the victims who you manipulated. It was a brick towards building a case at best, not the whole case and Jobst kept acting like it was a smoking gun.
