His apparent cognitive decline was pretty well-publicized at the time. You can argue whether those signs were the sign of true congitive decline or just him being quirky, but he was simply not completely on the level even back then.

Because the majority (aka the people in power) don't really give a shit about the average person or about the laws. It is really starting to feel like performative theater at this point. Realistically they all personally benefit from *not* speaking up and acting out, and they have a lot to lose from speaking out. So why should they risk it?

I think there are people in both parties, maybe more so in the DNC than in the GOP, that are uncomfortable and hate what is happening right now.

But I think they are the minority.

And I think they are hoping that either someone else will fix it, or at least there will be some assurance on a MASSIVE public scale that their words and actions will be supported safely before they take real action and enable change.

Not saying it's a "both sides" kind of thing but obviously the DNC is even suppressing its own right now so I think they're all just trying to play it safe.

Well, if they're going to engage in a cringefest, it's better that it's now and not during election season.

It used to be that the USSR was the most ridiculous example of a gerontocracy in the world. Now it may well be the US Democratic party.

But these fossils in D leadership still have no excuse -- Republicans have been shit on policy (especially domestic economic policy) for over a century, and that predates even the most ancient Ds in Congress.

Sometimes, yes. Even often. But on other occasions he became confused or told rambling irrelevant anecdotes. That's the thing about cognitive decline in old people - many of them have good and bad days. But there's only so many bad days a president can afford to have.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this was or should have been a big issue in 2020 - back then, despite the signs of decline, Biden's cognitive state on his worst day was quite obviously better than Trump's on his best. But it should have been (and, for some of us, was) a warning sign that he might not be fit to run again in 2024. And indeed he wasn't.

Bunch of out of touch crypt keeper mfers obsessed with money and power are holding progress back and help keep the fascists in power. And people wonder why Democrats are so despised.

Democratic National Committee (DNC) Vice Chair David Hogg said his organization Leaders We Deserve will focus on challenging more than a dozen Democratic incumbents in the next election cycle.

He said the group will focus on mobilizing a younger generation of leaders geared towards change amid new policies implemented under the Trump administration. Theyve slated $20 million for the initiative.

Hogg should really have considered how this went for AOC before going down this road.

If the only way to convince politicians and voters about your ideas is to openly attack your caucus members, youre doing it wrong.
