we're starting up a new campaign, and as always i'm having a light case of writers block
CE has been useful before, so let's try this again
i'm first of all gonna need help with a name, that's often the part i have most trouble with

basic info, i'm playing an Aasimar Warlock.
backstory is, you know legends about Fey, with the whole "i'll give you powers/wealth/etc if you give me your firstborn"?
yeah, i'm that kid that got sold to an ArchFey, now returned to the Material Plane

i'm considering picking up the Find Familiar spell, and just making it a single bee

i wanna make a bard who is Janitor and fights with a mop. multiclass bard and fighter. be a janitor.

You should make your character's weakness IBS

And go for the Find Familiar bee. It sounds hilarious. See if the DM will let it be a fey bee for extra shenanigans.

Rhoslyn because I derped and thought you were making a Tiefling character when coming up with a name (rhoslyn being a pink/red flower and the name having a somewhat "fey" origin as it is a traditional Welsh name for mystical beings). Orsa "little bear", causing the name to basically mean "a pretty flower with claws."

With me realizing that you're making an Aasimar the name doesn't work quite as well. Can make your eyes/hair pink or something, I dunno. :V

It is more homebrew-y nonsense than anything as there really isn't a fey bee per say (obviously any given fey can take the form of a bee). In that vein I was more thinking of the bee being more than just a literal bee, but instead having real ties to the feywild. How that actually manifests being a bit more "what does the DM let you get away with."

And Find Familiar lets you choose the type of the creature, fey being one of the options (the others being celestial or fiend).

Hopefully as an adult! Trying to RP as a teenager is a weird vibe.

Any idea how you spent your formative years? Presumably flopping around in the feywild, I can see a background like Guide or Entertainer being a decent choice for you.

i'm realising i may have trouble pronouncing Rhoslyn
but i wanna keep it Irish/Celtic so i might go with Oisin instead

I'd point out that it's Oisn with the fancy second i but it works.

In case anyone's curious it's pronounced "uh-SHEEN."

i'm supposed to come up with a few NPCs of interest, so if anyone got any cool ideas, maybe characters you met in your own games, i'd love to hear some

You walk into a tavern and see a bear.

You reach for your weapon but everyone seems perfectly calm. You wonder for a moment until you hear the voice coming from the bear, measured and resonant though strained with emotion.

He turns to you and introduces himself as Ian, and tells you that bandits have invaded and conquered his home. He is here to enlist help, as he cannot fight them alone.

You agree, and head for the woods. He stops you. He doesn't live in the woods. He points you towards the large building on the cliffside above the village with its intricate sand art and quiet library. He lives there.

This is how you met The Bar Bear Ian, level 3 Monk.

I've never played, but I've had this idea for a magic shop owner who's a giant spider sorcerer. She was born a regular giant spider, but the forest she was born in had ambient magic that gave all of its animals some degree of magic abilities. There was this rich, asshole druid who was in the habit of coming to the forest, Awakening an animal, using it as a slave, then killing it right before the month timer ran out. Luckily for her, he got blackout drunk the night the servitude ended, so she ate him alive and stole all his money.

It took a lot of doing to convince the town she was on the up-and-up, but now she owns a nice place in the city. She has an illusory puppet to handle the client interaction while she keeps watch invisibly on the ceiling. Don't try any shit or you'll learn why the shop has such plush, white carpet.

For fun and shenanigans both your DM and party will totally love, wild magic!

Just... don't go get drunk and sing karaoke in any towns with a Turask sealed up under them.

Fun fact, Lavos from Chrono Trigger was apparently heavily based on the Terrasque. Though there are of course some differences.

I'm a big fan of names that aren't names.

Like my favorite depiction of the fey is in Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrel where he's only ever known as The Gentleman With The Thistledown Hair.

Old Gods of Appalachia has a monstrous stag which is The Thing Whose Name Sounds Like Horned Head, But Is Not.

The High Rollers stream has He Who Walks Beneath The Lake.
