Simply put, I split my gaming between PC and Nintendo, with most the upcoming games I want to play being on steam.

Sure, knowing this company these is no chance theyll be a price drop, but maybe a neat new version will come out?

I think Im gonna wait until the next big Mario or Zelda release since Nintendo tends to release cool bundles for them.

So when consoles usually come out they have a few launch games, usually a big one or two and there's a mad rush of people trying to buy the console. Like the PS5 for MONTHS had people watching Twitter like a hawk or sitting in digital lines for the possibility of a chance to order one, and that's assuming the website didn't error out.

This time it seems like Nintendo launched the console and said "the games will be out later." It kind of ruins demand I would think but it gives people time to get one over the next couple months as the bigger games start to launch. But as the games come out more demand for the console will be there.

As of now there is zero reason to buy a Switch 2. I only bought one because my launch Switch 1 was on it's last legs.

Same no rush for me.

Yeah, the Zelda consoles are always on point if you like gold.

Personally I might aim for the "improved battery" revision (since I already get the feeling a OLED revision isn't happening no time soon).

Im just waiting for more games. I dont usually play third party games on Nintendo consoles and Mario Kart isnt enough to sell a console to me. Later this year when Pokemon, DK, and Kirby Air Riders are out, then Ill probably pick up the console.

It needs like, games first. As of now it has MKW and that's it. Everything else is available elsewhere and more than likely runs better / is cheaper.

Same, I don't give into FOMO like I used to back then.

I'm already planning on getting a Steam Deck at the summer sale and then a new computer come Black Friday, so I'm tapped out for this year. There's also nothing worth getting a Switch 2 for anyways.

I was kinda late to the Switch. I didn't get one until the OLED version came out. There are still plenty of Switch games I want to play so I'm fine with waiting to get a Switch 2.

Waiting for a FE game to be announced first, but still kinda worried about future tariff fuckery that would jack up the price.

I'm waiting on the staple proof screen.

returned to the ps5 gaming again after 5 months. realized what i was wasting money on for mobile gaming.
it's cheaper on console and get more even if it's digital license.

The PS5 had no games on launch either. It's why the PS4 was supported for so long it's only this year and the last were some physical copies of PS4 just aren't being manufactured even though digitally it still got most of them anyway.

I just still have a Wii U and I dunno. I never buy systems on launch or new things day of anyways.

I think this was more of people just wanting to buy one to re-sell it or just feel like an elite or something. I could have gotten a PS5 from a friend and I was just all eh my Ps4 is fine. And a weird brag post too at the end. Why did I give this more attention *sigh*

It had more than the switch 2 does now, lol. I was having fun with demon soul's and DMC5 special edition. People that managed to get a PS5 on release is literally doing the exact same thing switch 2 owners is doing now, playing the games you already owned at better performance than you previously could.

Demons Souls and Returnal but neither are as big as Mario Kart to both casuals and hardcores.
Switch 2 also has more announced 1st year exclusives.

Thats cool, but I never said anything about comparing how big the franchises were. I was responding to the no games thing. That wasn't true.

The switch 2 doesn't have new properties either at the moment aside from the new from software pvevp game that is coming out. Everything else is just the promise of expected sequels to the usuals....new mario, new animal crossing, new splatoon no doubt, new zelda, new metroid, new fire emblem. Eventually. But definitely not now.

Its fine if you don't personally don't count the games, but I'm just saying, they were there. I was playing demon's souls, spider-man miles morales, DMC5 special edition and enjoying non-ass monster hunter world+sekiro framerate. Literally the same thing switch 2 owners are doing now with pokemon scarlet and violet, the previously released zelda games and whatnot.

I responded by dismissing the no games thing as "yes, there were games. It may not have been many, but they were there. The switch 2 buyers are literally doing the exact same thing via playing the few that is there and enjoying the performance boost with the older games that already existed". I thought I made this painfully clear with my post.

I just wanted to be apart of some of the hoopla and only responded to the one post that irked me a bit saying how much better the PS5 launch was when it really wasn't.

I wanted to get it out that I was only responding to your post with mine at post 17 and was strictly about the "there is some games there" thing, lol.

Like it wasn't meant to be deeper than that. My post from 17 was meant to be a "PS5 buyers day 1 and switch 2 buyers day 1 are the same, you and I" sort of thing.

This entire topic was about the Switch 2s launch being lacking and Kamil adding on that the PS5s was also seen as that if not even more. Thats all that is.

I should have just made it more clear what I meant. I'm not insulting the switch 2 at all. It has a generous amount of 3rd party games available on release, and a huge part of the appeal of getting one early is because the the stuff you already own would just be looking/feeling a whole lot better to play. That is what I meant about the releases being the same, and the enjoyment of being a early adopter being the same.

If I had got a switch 2 right now then I would be playing bayonetta 2, 3, and astral chain right the hell now.

I also feel like I inserted my own narrative that didn't need to be here either. Shows over! I'm sorry.

i feel tempted to get one in my birthday which is next month.

cause as much as i wanna wait for like a black friday sale or whatever, i doubt it's gonna happen anytime soon...

i'm thinking 2027 but i might break down and buy 1 next year if they actually get some good games out. not thrilled with the price, library or 2 hour battery life though. plus i have a large backlog between switch, ps5, pc and older systems anyways.
