The incident adds another win for a White House that has aggressively attacked mainstream media outlets for their coverage of the president. ... Trump is currently suing CBS for $20 billion over the networks 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris, Trumps opponent in the 2024 election. CBS is reportedly considering settling the lawsuit.

In December, ABC News and its anchor George Stephanopoulos settled a lawsuit with Trump in which they were forced to pay the president $15 million after he accused Stephanopoulos of libel.

It's hard for me to give in to dooming when people are out there fighting back, and also when this administration keeps reminding us of how incompetent they are.

Why would there be? The people doing this have suffered no ill consequences for their actions and the American people are doing fuck all to stop them.

I just don't get it, honestly. When France's government does things the populace don't like, they mobilize and protest in massive numbers. When Netanyahu tried to neuter the judiciary, it triggered sustained protests, general strikes, and even reservists refusing to report. But Trump deciding to wipe his ass with the constitution? Crickets from the Americans.

These LA protests are the first sign of seen of anything approaching meaningful pushback against the administration and even then, one city is not going to convince anyone to change course.

it hasn't been crickets. people have been protesting since day one. 50501 National was founded to stage 50 protests at 50 state capitals all on the same 1 day, February 5th. there ended up being over 80 protests that day. since then, it has become not 1 day but 1 movement, and the movement is growing.

over 5 million people across the country protested on Hands Off! April 5th. my own county saw its second largest protest ever that day, one that my org help put on. and No Kings 6/14 is shaping up to be bigger than ever. our sign-ups on Mobilize basically doubled since the shit in LA has been going down. people are pissed. people are not okay with this.

the crazy thing to me is that if the mainstream media reported on the facts about what is happening in LA for instance, they'd probably get even higher ratings because the truth is stranger than whatever fiction trump and his crew have been shitting everywhere.
