Anti-LGBTQ+ MAGA bigots are spewing Islamophobia after the apparent win of New York Citys Democratic mayoral primary by State Assembly member Zohran Mamdani, a self-described Democratic socialist who, if elected in November, would become the citys first-ever Muslim, Asian, and African-born mayor.

In another post, she wrote in all-caps, Why do we not have laws that say foreigners cannot hold office in the US??? What the hell!?

Chaya Raichik, the anti-LGBTQ+ founder of LibsOfTikTok whose inflammatory threats have led to death and bombing threats against children, educators, schools, and childrens hospitals posted an video of Mamdani celebrating his election victory and wrote, RIP NYC.

Charlie Kirk, the founder of the anti-LGBTQ+ young conservative organization Turning Point USA, wrote in his own post on X, 24 years ago a group of Muslims killed 2,753 people on 9/11. Now a Muslim Socialist is on pace to run New York City.

Transphobic Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) posted a photo of Mamdani and wrote, After 9/11 we said Never Forget. I think we sadly have forgotten.

Its important to note that Islamic extremist terrorists masterminded the September 11, 2001 attacks on New York City, and that many Muslims both condemned the attacks and were subsequently demonized and attacked by right-wing conservatives and their supporters in the years following the attacks.

On the day after the election, rabidly anti-LGBTQ Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) posted a picture on X showing the Statue of Liberty covered in a head-to-toe burka garment that some Muslim women wear, and wrote This hits hard.

Anti-LGBTQ+ conspiracy theorist Jack Posobiec wrote, A foreign-born Muslim socialist just won the primary for New York City mayor. Are we allowed to talk about mass immigration now?

Anti-LGBTQ+ conspiracy theorist Mike Cernovich wrote, A Marxist Hamas lover cleared another hurdle to become New York Citys next mayor. Hamas is a Palestinian Sunni Islamist political and military organization that has governed the Gaza Strip since 2007. Mamdani has not voiced support for the organization.

Mamdani won on a progressive platform despite last-minute attacks from both Republicans and Democrats who claimed that his pro-Palestinian statements make him anti-Jewish. Despite these clams, Jewish people especially younger and progressive ones supported Mamdani, sharing his vision of municipal improvement and opposition to political oppression.

Mamdanis platform promised free buses, a municipal rent freeze, taxing the wealthiest city dwellers, no cost-childcare, city-owned grocery stores, a Department of Community Safety for mental health programs and crisis response, building affordable housing, and more.

It remains to be seen if he can win in the November general election. His mayoral rival, disgraced former New York Gov. Mike Cuomo has previously said that he may run for mayor as a third-party candidate, and the citys current Mayor Eric Adams may also try to run as an Independent, which could split the citys Democratic vote and help the Republican nominee, Curtis Sliwa, win the office.

Mamdanis win was seen as a repudiation of the Democratic establishment, as former President Bill Clinton, former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg, New York Reps. George Latimer (D) and Ritchie Torres (D) all supporting Cuomo.

Cuomo resigned as the states governor in 2021 following the release of a report detailing sexual harassment allegations against him.

I would easily laugh my literal ass off at this if I didn't know how seriously her "followers" take this messaging. In reality, it's more scary than funny. It should be only funny. It sucks that it isn't.
