I got roped into playing this and honestly I find it very enjoyable and not as predatory of spending as I expected. The quality is a lot better than I expected too. Just from a visual standpoint, the races are exceptional.

My favourite streamer and best friend NorthernLion has been playing this, despite him being exactly the opposite type of person who like either anime/cutesy stuff or gacha/degenerate mobile games

I am personally a big fan of some gacha games like Raid so I get the genre.... but I am utterly perplexed by this game. It seems like a parody, where it has every single degenerate aspect emblematic of the genre and instead of having any actual compelling gameplay or stimulating activity to actually do...... there's just cute anime girls having a concert.

This man is in hell.

Ok I can answer this one if you haven't played on multiple devices yet, or for anyone here that wants to. You can freely play between iOS/Android/Steam through Data Link without having to worry about whether or not you'll retain your progress, it's all there, even if you're in the middle of a career run. All of your free Carats are usable between platforms as well. It's only the paid ones that stay on the platform you bought it from.

And playing your account on Steam actually gives you some free bonus items!

It's the roguelike gameplay with horse girl raising that really pulls people in. Seeing if all the efforts you put in (and how much RNG didn't screw you over) paid off in see your girl win the race. It's pretty soul crushing when they lose and it ends your run.

You know, I'm not familiar with NorthernLion, but it's been funny seeing clips floating around of him getting into it. Though I have to say, it was surreal seeing Sajam try it out.

This game is actually pretty tame when it comes to degeneracy, unless you're that opposed to seeing big anime tiddies. The horse girls lean more towards the wholesome side.

The lyrics are not the same as the ones translated in game. Some lines are still left in Japanese, which shows whoever wrote the English lyrics sure knows idol culture.

They probably were aiming for something singable (especially for the singers' non-native language) whereas the in-game lyrics are going more for a translation.

Got my first non-meme strat URA win with Vodka. Took all three alarm clocks on the Finale because she kept losing to Scarlet. Wasn't using the meta supports either because I was just going for maximum event point bonus instead

how do stats really work? I had like 575 speed, 300 stam, 450 power etc and against racers with all stats around 200-250 and still barely win or even get 3rd or something

There's a lot of RNG to the races themselves. I was slated to take 5th, and in the race I got 10th and had to use an alarm clock to re-do. My horse's mood was already great, so there was no change there, it should've just been a very similar race. But on the re-do, she won by 6 lengths. It's weird.

Anyway, here's a little cheat sheet I found for what kind of stats you should aim for by the end. Guts is an entirely ignorable stat.

you need a certain amount of stamina+endurance recovery skills based on track length (you can basically ignore it for career sprints or miles, or if you get one legitimately good yellow stamina recovery skill like SSR Super Creek's Swinging Maestro)

most important stat to focus is speed, especially if you're front runner or pace chaser

you also need somewhere around 300-500 wits to reliably proc skills in career

power is used for acceleration and also overtaking, alongside guts

guts is involved with overtaken and blocking, so if you're a front runner like silence suzuka or bakushin, you can literally ignore the stat. just stay first place the whole race with your bloated speed stat. my front runners usually end up around 1000 speed by the arima kinen year 3

the usual strat right now is to use 4-5 blue speed support cards + some good friend support card like Super Creek or Fine Motion and spend the first half of career maxing out as many friendships as fast as possible (even if it means training something like guts). in the latter half of career you'll try to land as many friendship trainings (a blue card's friendship training will always be on speed) as possible while resting/recreationing as little as possible

easiest to do with bakushin, she's basically easy mode since you basically ignore stamina and just zoom as hard as possible

a run can take as little as 20~ minutes once you're skipping at max speed and know what to look for tbh

By the way, if you join the club, make sure you put in requests for shoe donations and donate whenever you can. Donating gets you club points which can be traded in for a very nice F2P beginner-friendly SSR support card in the shop (the Mejiro McQueen one).

I completed it like two turns into a new run, and I've seen it maybe 3 times since then. The RNG is pretty whack. Good news is that mission doesn't expire, I guess

you might as well pull once because you'll get like 3-5 new umas to play with\

but yeah, support cards are the meat of your power, any 1* character can be good, and the OP support card everyone's saving for comes in around ten days

If the rumours of the local mobsters telling artists to knock it off with the 18+ content is true then it might have helped the franchise have a more wholesome feel to it.

I do think compared to other similarly popular franchises the amount of H is significantly lower.

Im pretty sure the yakuza thing was a joke. I think its more collective respect for the owners of the horses, especially when some horses like Gold Ship and Haru Urara are still alive.

But its not like they can stop it from happening, especially as it gets bigger outside of Japan.

got S rank medium aptitude and enough stamina to actually possibly win, too. rip me

If you can raise a horse with some kind of stamina draining effect that will hit El, whether it be a blanket hit or just for Pace Chasers or whatever, you can prevent her from ever activating her ultimate skill in the race, and it's much easier. You can also focus on firm conditions, left-turning, and sunny weather stuff, because that will never change.

I forget if its default for her or from the guest legacy I use but my Rice Shower always has access to one of those Pace Chaser debuffs and was perfectly ideal for this race. Won 2/3 and got second in the last but still beat El Condor, which counts as a Draw for the event

I won once and got the first clear bonus which is about as good as I was willing to grind for. Made a B+ Silence Suzuka with Left-Handed, Fall Runner, Killer Tunes, and Medium Straightways (apparently style/length Straightways and Corners are insanely good value as long as you match? 3s duration is super long)
