You can consider that the reason you're not into Anime anymore is because you're no longer the target audience. Good thing I never said that then. What I actually said is "I can't think of anything from the last 20 years (give or take) I've cared about". I'm not making a judgement about the relative quality of any show, positive or negative. What I'm saying is that there really haven't been any shows that have leapt out at me and screamed "YOU MUST WATCH THIS." Nothing has really stood out from the pack enough to make me want to seek it out. We live in a world where there is currently more media available than any human being could ever hope to experience in a single lifetime. Attention must be earned. Because there will always be something else I can be watching (or playing, or reading). If a show wants my attention, it needs to work for it. And like it or not, no show has ever really impressed me so much that I went "Oh, that looks pretty cool, I'm going to check that out!" Especially since I'm not a weeb with a Crunchyroll subscription and way too much free time. Which means I'd generally have to go out of my way to track down more obscure shows. I've seen clips from various stuff online. I've heard other people talk about various shows (and I've heard anime fans complaining about stuff like how much isekai shows have flooded the marketplace). I've seen manga online that has anime adaptations. But I've never really seen anything that motivated me to say "Yes, this is a thing that is worth my time. Let me seek this thing out." I'm not even against anime as an overarching style, per se. I've got about three shelves of old anime DVDs spanning the 80s to the early 2000s.
