Jimmy and to a lesser extent Perry knowing who Superman is has been a pretty standard thing for a while now, though.

There was a really, REALLY clumsy attempt during some editorial shakeups not too long ago that had Lex make everyone forget who Superman was and if anyone found out they'd just, uh, die, with Perry as the example. Thankfully I believe that was just straight up dropped during the reshuffling before the last soft relaunch. Can't remember it ever getting a conclusion at least.

As Superman's Pal, Jimmy Olsen is extremely high on the priority list of people who get to know about the secret identity

The other thing is, for Superman specifically, his coworkers are all reporters. What does that say about them if they can't piece together the obvious? I think it's fine, especially if it's his relationship with Lois that was the big tell. Like the hypnotic glasses work, but it's Lois clearly being into both Clark and Superman that gives it away.

I would kinda get this if Lois was the one known to interview Superman, but the movie suggests that Clark always did it himself up until the scene where he lets Lois interview him.

of course the fact that only Clark can somehow find and interview Superman should have been a giveaway for anyone

it's like how does no one figure out Peter Parker is Spider-Man when he's the only one who can get good pictures of him

It's more like maybe they could figure it out from the "Clark interviewing Superman" aspect alone, but that's all focused on Clark and thus maybe they're susceptible to the hypno glasses overriding it. But Lois doesn't have hypno powers, so they can piece it together based solely on her actions, and maybe Clark can't hypno that away.

I saw it. I enjoyed it besides the whole twist with his parents wanting him to rule earth and Supergirl is like nah not gonna tell him? Made no sense. Kinda dumps on the origin story too

It's because she's younger than Superman in this iteration and wouldn't have known those specifics about his parents message.

Oh well that's an adequate explanation for me.

Just saw Fantastic 4 and it was pretty good as well. I definitely enjoyed Superman more, but this was a step in the right direction for Marvel.

I'll be seeing it Sunday with a friend who invited me, wasn't gonna after the posters but eh. Will be the first Marvel movie I've seen in theaters since Endgame.
