Campaign doesn't hold up, IMO. Played this around the same time I played DOOM (the original) and thought that was rather better.

Always enjoyed Halo physics/shooting and liked the story of this one the most.

Hmm, rating a game I last played well over 20 years ago. I remember having a lot of fun with the multiplayer (albeit not as much as with 2) and finding the campaign decent.

Obviously one of the most important games ever and it still holds up in almost every aspect, but it's held back by some awful design choices in the campaign. Redoing the same maps again is a cute concept but it gets old if you're doing a Legendary run, and the Library alone takes roughly a whole mark off the score. It's crazy good when you compare it to its 2001 contemporaries, just lacks a bit of variety in guns and levels.

In this specific case, the map reuse is (in my opinion) well-done and on purpose. It's in-game nostalgia bait. It helps that the re-uses have a different enemy faction, different aesthetics (iirc night vs day, clear vs snowy, functional vs destroyed), new areas, and at minimum have you going in a different/the opposite direction

Yeah, I really can't think of another campaign like it, and it's the most iconic feature to me. The levels feel different enough that I really love it in both concept and execution.
