I was expecting to turn it off but I enjoyed it. I loved seeing Ben Stillers character again who I almost forgot was in the original but had such a hilarious role. John Daly still looks pretty good considering he spent his life as a raging alcoholic. Man this could have been worse. It still has the Sandler dumb gags like the cucumber water etc. But the dumb stuff is nostalgic too I guess

This was far from a train wreck. Some genuine laughs. Worth watching.

It is not as fun as the first one. And the call backs and cameos were very old by the end.

My only real complaint, other than there being an odd WTF whiplash near the beginning, was that the movie had way too many scene inserts from the previous, when maybe only a couple were warranted. Needing to have at least three sons of previous characters show up was odd, too. Also wish Drew Carey could've fought Happy.

But a lot of fun. Better than I expected.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

It was alright. I didn't laugh at all but wouldn't say I didn't enjoy it at all either.

My weird issue is that they were so hostile to the Maxi-golf stuff when outside of the douchebag operator of it all it seemed super cool to me. Like the last hole being some deal where you have to work with your caddy, an "ice-level"...the movie seems to act like these things are just dumb but they seemed really neat to me. It was just a strange stance for the movie to take like "don't ever try to evolve stuff or do anything different"

I thought it was weird how there was so many cameos from the first. Almost everyone was in it. If the actor died their kid was in it.

all except the actual caddie he used and was in the first movie a lot the homeless guy, the actor who is in tons of Sandler movies didnt show up. I kept expecting him

I liked it. Only complaint was the forced 'member berry cuts to the original.

Like...who hasn't seen the original a half dozen times? We get the reference, don't need it pointed out.

Overall I would rate this movie as good.

It's not the best movie, nor is it the worst.

I did laugh quite a bit.

I thought it was ok. It felt kinda weird with John Daly since he's like a real life golf pro with his own video game turned alcohol abuser.

I love the first one. It is very funny, and it was the hang out movie me and my college friends always watched together. It is even funnier when you add drinking, we quickly discovered.

But I am not sure I have ever seen a film do product placement as part of the joke as blatantly as Happy Gilmore. There is a whole important story beat around it for goodness sake!

I also cracked up when Arrested Development did the same kind of thing years later with Burger King. Because there was Carl Weathers, tying it all together!

It was definitely an Adam Sandler movie. The story of a loser with a hot, above his league wife who overcomes the odds. Many cameos as usual.

Was better than expected.

I put it on while I played my Switch for background noise thinking it would be terrible and I really enjoyed it. I was laughing at all the places he thought of to hide liquor.

The best product placement joke movie is "Clusterfunke Christmas" which is one of those parody movies like scary movie but it's parodying basically all the Hallmark movies at the same time.

There's a scene where someone gives the main character a mug of hot chocolate and the mug has the brand of some company on it but as she's drinking it she turns the logo away so you can't see it and the guy reaches for the mug to put the logo back into view. Shit like that happens throughout the whole movie.

I have to watch this. Sounds amazing. Thanks for the heads up.

My wife is reading a book series that combines Christmas hallmark movie type stories, murder mysteries and parody. She is having a great time with it. Sounds like that kind of thing would make a fun movie.

saw the second one last night and it was alright. it got some laughs out of me, specially in the first half, but the first movie was way better...

i did like how they brought back Happy's rival from the first movie but instead of being a typical revenge story, they team up to fight a greater evil.

and seems like they went all out with the celebrity cameos: Bad Bunny, Eminem, Post Malone, Hot Ones guy... at some point i was like "who didnt Sandler get for this movie??" lol

Didnt he refer to him by his full name John Daly at the beginning of the movie when Happy was trying to figure out how to begin?

I think Benny, at least, is directing The Smashing Machine with The Rock as a UFC fighter (a real-life fighter, I don't remember his name).

He also worked on and costarred in The Curse with Nathan Fielder and Emma Stone a couple years ago.

Watched it last night, and it was actually good, but it wasn't as funny as the first one.

It was good, but it had a different vibe. I think the story of Happy Gilmore 2 could have been turned into a different movie and not be a part of the Happy Gilmore universe. It's depressing that's how his life ended up.
