Loved the first, keeping my expectations super low for this one.

This is going to be so bad...but I'll be watching it later......

Ill be watching part 2 of the Billy Joel documentary. If theres time, Ill give HG2 a look see. Definitely watching it by Saturday night.

I probably won't get to watch it. I really like Adam Sandler and many of his movies are fantastic to me though I have really tempered expectations for this. I think it will lean heavily on nostalgia and that is ok but it will most likely fall well short of the 1st one.

With that said I'd still like to watch but I don't have Netflix and have no interest in ever getting it so unless it someone ends up on cable in the future I will never see it.

I should probably rewatch the first, it's been years.

Certainly a day one watch for me but expectations are pretty mid.

Shooter McGavin is absolutely one of the movie villains of all time

Watch it after work today.

It was ok.

The only true negative I have really is the scene where the son of the "You Jackass!" character gets eaten by 4 alligators and nobody does anything except laugh at him as it happens and everything moves on like normal. Like, I know this movie isn't real life and the guy is a total douche, but no one would just sit there and do nothing, even if they hate the guy. If they had shown the alligator and cut away from the scene, I feel even that would have gone off better because at least it leaves it up for the audience to decide what happens to him.

Just got out of work, probably start it around 4pm

I plan to watch this tomorrow.

First hour was better than the second but I liked it. Same humor and there's so many nods to things in the first movie it hits that nostalgic feel. I havent watched Adam Sandler anything in years but this was decent.

The reviews are actually not that bad which is surprising. Maybe I'll watch it later

My only complaint so far is that Happy should have updated his Happy Place to include a second Virginia.

I think I get why this was much better than I expected. Ben Stiller was one of the people who wrote it.

Everyone on my Facebook keeps sayings its ok so that makes me kind of want to check it out. I used to watch the original with my dad.

The best part are the cameo's and how much they all played into it.

The Schauffele / Fowler "That's what she said" part was such pure gold.

Scheffler's "Not again" comment had me cracking up.

Ngl I want to play that final hole.

Its got a shockingly better script than the first one. If youre not satisfied in the first eight minutes, bail.

I expected this to suck balls but it was a very good comedy.

Just finished it and man I had a blast!

So many cameos, callbacks, bits old/new, a worthy sequel IMO

I really liked this one! Honestly, I might even say it was a better overall movie than the first one.

I gave it 6 / 10 or 3 stars on Letterboxd:

Supremely dumb with a pretty bad laugh vs groan ratio. But it also has a lot more heart than I expected, and I simply found myself way more invested than I should be. It's the supporting cast and cameos that really drive the movie - Christopher McDonald (happy they took Shooter in a different direction), Bad Bunny, John Daly and Margaret Qualley are all particularly fantastic.

I think the second movie had much more emotional depth in some ways (some parts of the first half were downright depressing) and I do like that the second movie featured a lot of cameos from golfers.

The second half of the movie got to be a bit too over the top, but still, I like the first half a lot.

Right, the stakes do seem considerably lower. Ben Stiller was making his grandma work in a sweatshop in that retirement home too.

The start of the film was incredibly bleak. The guy literally killed his wife in a golfing accident, turned to alcohol abuse, lost his grandmother's house, and was evicted into a shitty house in a crappy neighborhood

He went through some shit in the first movie too though

Great nod to the first movie

I've seen it now, I enjoyed it. Was a good time.

Dumb, but it's Happy Gilmore so that checks out.

Definitely worth watching which is more than you can say about most Adam Sandler movies.
