I removed all Catan votes, because...well, when your name is used as a splitting point for board games, you're kinda assumed to be transcending the Mount Rushmore.

You know, I just sorta assumed Ticket to Ride was pre-Catan due to its simplicity in rules and older aesthetic artstyle.

Glad to see my favorite board game, Dominion, nearly get into the Mount Rushmore!

Ultimately, cheese is the supreme topping and the only one that I would argue is needed, although Ive had some really great burgers without cheese on them as well.

Onions probably belong on the list, although I think it would be reasonable to distinguish between raw and grilled onions here. But nobody seems to be doing that, so, no matter.

While I think that bacon is often superfluous on a burger, it can be very good, and it feels like bacon is everywhere sometimes.

That leaves us with basically four standard options, which are lettuce, tomato, pickles, and some kind of sauce or condiment. While I can have any of the first three and not be bothered, Im never going to ask for them if I have some hand in customizing the burger. So, sauces/condiments. Hmm. Im going to toss out the big three of ketchup, mustard, and mayonnaise, which I think can be good but sometimes work against the overall burger. Its tempting to say teriyaki sauce, but I think that really only works with some kinds of burgers. So, Ill go with one that Ive only started seeing around in the last couple of years, but that has been really good on all of the burgers Ive had it onif it counts as distinctive enough from my third pick.

On the same general topic, may I ask what everyones favorite burger is, if you have one? Even if its just from a place exclusive to one city somewhere. Im always interested in checking out great burgers if I can get to them.

I think it's perfectly fine to exclude. Nobody actually cares about the lettuce on a burger, and I feel like that kinda matters for a Rushmore.

Like if you're building a dream burger, how far do you go before you mention lettuce, if you do at all? People just accept that it's on there by default.

low key its just the kind I make from home using Costco cause its convenient although any dive of significance will make a quality burger

with Lettuce its just the classic LTO pairing but it is definitely the least significant of the three (if you want a hot take onions are the best topping period for burgers, especially grilled ones, yes more so than cheese)

MF ing CHEESE - I'll NEVER opt for a hamburger when cheeseburger is an option
Bacon - It makes everything savory taste even better
Ketchup - Not the best condiment ever, but undisputed best for burger

... Last one I actually had to think about, because I can do without LTO, but I think

Pickles - That's the one vegetable that stays crunchy and can be hot or cold on a burger and still be tasty

Nobody likes warm, wilted iceberg lettuce or soggy, hot tomatoes and I personally can't stand raw onions mucking up the harmony of my burger (sauted onions/fried onion rings is a different story, but those are rarely an option), so pickles it is.

HMs to: Mayonnaise (Baconator wouldn't be the same without it), BBQ sauce, cooked onion, bacon jam, goat cheese (look I like fancy burgers sometimes), fried egg over medium, and avocado for texture

Speak for yourself. A burger without some sort of leafy green is a burger I'd rather not eat. It is the most essential topping.
