Eh, that not quite as bad as most people here will think. Loan forgiveness for certain jobs, especially with the government, has been a thing for a long time. There's definitely something detestable about the lowering ages explicitly to get younger recruits to bolster the numbers, but overall, not that different from what the military does with their high school & college recruitment drives.

Actually the new positions are only until 2026 if Dems get a majority in both houses.

I think this is stopping mature applicants.

Other considerations are

Travel without notice
Vastly increased risk of being attacked
Being tried for war crimes

If someone's joining ICE at 18-20 they're not going to college anyway so there's no loan to forgive. The idea of a bunch of armed teenage racists wearing masks and disappearing people sounds even worse. They're not going to be the brightest gen z has to offer.
