I like all Pokmon main series games at least somewhat.

Friend Safari and PSS were some of the best features in the series.

It remains the only mainline Pokemon game I haven't played since it came out around the time I lost interest in Pokemon. I'd like to play it and still have a 3DS, but I think I'd rather just wait for the eventual remake.

Yeah it's got greninja in it. The coolest water starter final form since blastoise.

There wasn't anything bad about it either. The region was fun. It was set up nicely. Decent balance of outdoor and indoor parts. The story wasn't just blabbering on like I think it was in sun/moon. It was probably the last pokemon generation I thought was very good. I haven't even finished violet yet and I've had it for centuries.

The last mainline Pokemon game I'd play. It was alright, megaevolution is cool, just not into the series anymore.

It's actually one of my favorite Pokemon games.

I liked almost every new Pokemon design in that region, and I really loved the customization options. Also the game just looked really good, I think. I don't like the art direction for the newer games, but XY found a good balance between the older pixel titles and its new transition to 3D.

I do think the region felt unfinished, though. And the plot is actually awful, but I'm excusing that this one time just because of how much fun I had playing it.

Yep my favorite pair of games for the series. Megas, finally getting character customization, loads of pokemon for nuzlocke variety, xp share, just all glorious.

Megas were cool, but the games were so disappointing after Gen 5. Everything was just like worse.

Yeah, it has Megas, character customization, friend safari, etc. Not my favorite Pokmon game by any means, but I had fun with it back in the day.

There has yet to be a mainline Pokemon game that I dislike, but X and Y are the weakest entries in my opinion. The character customization was pretty darn good in the game but that's all I can really say about it.

I did still like them, but they did mark a beginning of a degradation of completeness/polish in the mainline Pokmon games (mostly when it comes to optional/postgame content) that would unfortunately keep progressing in each following generation to come.

It was a fantastic game right up until the second Gym. Leisurely pace, lovely scenery, promised a huge region with tons to do and discover (Lumiose was a confusing mess, mind you).

Then it just all sped up and rushed to a conclusion, leaving a lot of unanswered questions and bits of plot hanging.

I resented the transition to 3D after B2W2 especially, but there are general issues with its performance, quality, and lack of difficulty as well.
That said, it still did a few things well. Like, fairy types were a good addition.
I feel as though I should give it a second chance someday.

My run of the game had me able to obtain and use multiple Eeveelotions really early in the game throughout the whole playthrough. I used, IIRC, Espeon, Vaporeon, and Sylveon (maybe Jolteon too, but I can't remember). Had a blast and also spent a lot of time in the Battle Maison. Got the statues for Single, Double, and Triple. Never got the Rotation one due to how the computer seems to always know what I'm switching to.

Anyway, had a blast with the game. So yes, I love itm

Cool region/pokemon, but somehow they made the already easy pokemon games even easier and gen 6 was the start of extreme kanto pandering.

This was the beginning of the end for the series.

It was okay. Not much replay value after beating the game. I really liked the mega evolutions.

It has its flaws, it's way too easy (even for Pokemon standards) unless you limit yourself by turning off the Exp Share and/or not using some of the gifts like the Mega Lucario, and a lot of things were sadly left unfinished due to the planned Pokemon Z being cancelled... but I still think the game as a whole was great. The Kalos region was cool, Mega Evolution was cool, it looked really good for being mainline Pokemon's first transition to 3D, and I honestly like a lot of the Kalos Pokemon designs.

X/Y are a solid upper-mid-tier Pokemon game IMO, and if Z had actually come out, I think that would have elevated gen 6 to high tier.

Lack of challenge
Pushing characters that have no personality outside of thinking you are the greatest person who ever lived
Beginning the trend of you constantly being praised for simply existing, and the entire world revolves around you.

i like the idea of Mega Evos.
3d was cool in the context of the time and current state of the series, although i prefer 2D.
They tried to make birds more interesting by giving them a unique battle type. I wish they did this with water too. Except they made it dumb by making many of the animations really stupid and lazy.

Second favorite mainline game. Super excited for Legends Z-A.

I played, beat, and enjoyed it at release, but it's just now dawning on me how thoroughly forgettable the game was. Megas were cool, Diantha had an excellent battle theme, and the giant man had a pet flower...and that's it.

Once ORAS came out I never really went back to X/Y for that gen, which was incidentally the last gen I played (I'd previously ended my time with the franchise with B/W, but my brother talked me into buying Y).

XY is the game that's sort of stuck with me the most of any of the "recent" pokemon games. Its good enough as it is, but never felt like they actually had a chance to finish it the way they did with other games.

First off, best art style - the "2D style, but in 3D" was fantastic and its such a shame they seemingly immediately abandoned it with Gen 7.

Second, never getting the "third version" to make a more definitive game, makes the whole thing feel so weird. Because there's so much that's underbaked, but in a way that feels like they just didn't have the ability to finish it on time. Like you have 1/2 the puzzle pieces, and you can tell how all the missing pieces fit in, but they just aren't there.

It's the only gen I feel comes off as "unfinished". There are parts I don't like about other games, but stuff like SV feels like its a "complete" game and pretty much what GF was going for, but I don't see that for XY, and so its always stuck with me. Like on its own as it is, its "fine", but it feels like there was so much more, in a way that makes you feel like you didn't get to see the "true" version.

Ehhh yes BUT.

This was the start of the downfall of Pokemon for me tbqh. From this game onward I never felt the joy I had from the previous entries.
