5 years ago I was one of those people who pre-ordered Cyberpunk 2077 & got a refund after release because it was a unplayable broken mess.

Fast forward 5 years to last week, I buy it on sale. Heard that the game was fixed and tons updates made it awesome.

So fired it up this week, its fantastic. Everything things runs great, no weird glitches and stuff. Graphics look awesome. Definitely the perfect game to hold me over until GTA6 lol. They got new awesome DLC out for it too.

I highly recommend it in 2025. Its amazing the 180 the studio did on this game after the disastrous release.

I dont know what it was like before, but I dont massively rate it now.

I liked it more before they redid the skill trees. I had an unstoppable build before but now I can get killed pretty easily.

Part of it is the game was great day one if you had a PC that could play it. The horrible Xbone and PS4 ports ruined the reputation of the game.

Same. I had to spend quite a bit of time rethinking my build after the 2.0 update because they nerfed a lot of my main abilities. Still love the game though.

I kind of want to revisit it especially for the expansion
but I've heard it's a completely different game and I think it'll feel weird since I did two playthroughs at launch and that version of the game is cemented in my mind.

Had a negative opinion of it until I saw a video and then actually played the fixed current version of it. I originally bought the broken game at launch.

I picked it up a year or so ago on the PS5, but didnt really give it a fair shake. The game just wasnt clicking for me at the time so I dropped it for something else. When I get a break in my backlog Ill give this another go because I didnt think that it was bad by any means.

So what? The game is one of the best of all-time. This topic is better than 99% of the shit posted on this board.

It was fine at launch for me on PC. Worst bug I had was V glitching out like a scarecrow when riding a motorcycle.

I kind of liked the launch state better build wise, as builds were way stronger back then. I had a Breakthrough sniper build that let me do like 12M damage through walls with a headshot before they even knew I was there.

Some of the 2.0 updates are really stupid and need to be modded out (like making skill doors scale with your level so every door in the game is harder to open if you go there later, and making you unable to remove mods from weapons).

I can't imagine how much stronger the builds were at launch because I was sweeping through the streets like the last plague of Egypt and that was with me deliberately nerfing myself by not just slaughtering everyone through a camera with quickhacks.

cmon, they aint shills. i completely disagree with most takes on the game - my 90 hour experience was a total fuckfest of a mess. and i think the writing, acting and characters are all shallow as hell

but, i had fun. it's fun. the gameplay is fun. and most of the time the glitches arent game breaking. is it that hard to believe peoples perception of it is genuine?

Eh, it depends on build.

Netrunning was even more broken since Trace didn't exist, but things like Blunt were shit before 2.0.

All of the specials were based around Stun, which was a percentage-based debuff, while Blade focused on Bleed that happened every time.

Plus there were a fair few really fucking weird perks, and I wasn't a fan of the weird stat requirements (instead of 4-9-15-20 it was like "here's one or two at 7, a couple at 13, this one's 18...").

The new skill tree upgrades help a lot,

That take is valid, but I liked it more after. I got bored when my character hit that 'invincible' stage, took all the adrenaline out of the combat for me.

Did you do the Heist mission? I was ambivalent on the game until finishing up this main mission. That is when I got sucked into the world and characters and had me hooked for the next 3 three weeks.

I bought Cyberpunk at launch and it was honestly really fun but I couldn't finish due to all the bugs and crashes. There were a lot of quests I couldn't finish due to NPCs I need to talk to progress being stuck in a wall or floor or disappearing or attacking me. I recently imported my PS4 save to PS5 and have been having a blast. I had to adjust to the Netrunner changes but it's still very powerful due to Overclock and the queues

Yeah I'm not a fan of these changes. Enemy scaling is fine but attribute check scaling feels bad. The Gorilla Arms helps with Body but they ruin my aesthetic :/

I've never made someone who goes under 20 for Tech and I very rarely go under 14 on Body, but I'm also not a fan.

It makes it impossible to know for sure if you have enough points to get by until you just max the damn things.

Sometimes I hack through a camera and turn enemies into cyberpsychos and watch the carnage. If Im outside, I control a vehicle and run them over. Then blow them up afterwards. Good times.

Both my playthrough were 20 Tech and as low in Body as I could get away with. Thats why I was so annoyed by it and why Attribute Checks De-Scaled was the first mod I installed.

It is completely bonkers that if you are level 5 you can have 3 or 4 Body and the high tier Gorilla Arms and open any Body door as itll be 9, but if youre level 50 the same doors will all require 20 Body. That is batshit and fuck whoever decided it.

It isn't and none will convince me otherwise.

Just to be nit-picky, I'm not sure you can.

I'm not even sure arm cyberware itself is available at that level, let alone the purple or orange ones.
