I had it in the air fryer for 20 min at 350 which was the highest recommended amount on the package. The fish doesn't taste bad or raw, but I'm just overly cautious. Afraid of getting food poisoning and all that lol

It should be good as thats long enough in the fryer to kill anything dangerous. Even then the odds of getting food poisoning or something else are pretty small.

But if youre concerned still you can always just slap it back in for a few more minutes.

A food thermometer helps eliminate this anxiety, you should get one! Ever since I started using one I can pull food out right at the perfect doneness and never have to worry about undercooked meat

Oh really? Yeah, it's Atlantic salmon with some Mediterranean herbs on it. Alright good to know that I don't have to worry about it.

not sure about fish specifically, but generally speaking the recommended temperature and cook times on packaging will slightly over cook food.

still would recommend getting a food thermometer if you're gonna be cooking any raw meats at home.

That's what I was thinking. But I did leave out one important detail, I was cooking it from frozen hahaha so I may have needed to put a couple minutes over the max to compensate. But yes, I will get a thermometer for future cooking uses.

Food safety for some food is also based on temp and how long it stays at that temp.

Usually when they say a food is safe after reaching a temperature its usually the temp that is safe as long as it reaches it. Although temps lower temps can be considered safe as long as it stays there for certain amount of time.

Dont cook fish from frozen. Assuming it was frozen it was probably one of those vacuum sealed packs, just submerge that in a bowl of (cold) water in the fridge for 30ish minutes before cooking to thaw it out

I think some frozen fish has instructions to cook from frozen.

Ultimately, a thermometer does take the stress away from making sure until you're more used to cooking time.

Last time I cooked salmoni seared both sides then put it in airfryer to finish. Took it out and thought it should be done and it was still 20 degrees away from 145.

Oh, well Atlantic salmon is bron in fresh water but they live in saltwater. So I'm assuming they are fine. The meet was frozen so the parasites should be dead right?
