Similar levels of Kiryu and major bosses having superhuman powers sometimes, like punching through concrete, lifting cars, dodging gunfire, making impossible handgun shots to disarm 5 guys in under a second while swinging on a rope, tanking cutscene gunshots/stab wounds, fighting things like sharks, bears, and tigers unarmed casually, things like that. --- You can't live without a spinal cord, son. He's not the actual strongest or toughest yakuza in his universe, but he's the most flexible and brilliant fighter. The issue is that I feel Squall severely outskills him. Kiryu has survived shit like getting shot at by a minigun, but Squall survived his archenemy putting him in a timestop and surrounding him with magical projectiles from every single direction and still escaped unscathed. Kiryu can't meaningfully blindside him if Ultimecia failed to do it with something so unbelievably abusive and broken. All three would get rocked by the others hitting them, so in a 1v1 it's mostly down to who can land a clean hit or dodge the best. DK not very skilled, he's throwing haymakers and nothing else. Kiryu's the most technical fighter here with the most experience fighting unarmed enemies, especially given his tons of counters/parries that launch 500+ pound animals, along with boxing style where he bobs and weaves through attacks and constantly circles around them. DK landing a punch would be like me trying to get a clean hit on Floyd Mayweather or Muhammad Ali. Neither of Squall or DK are especially dodgy, so against each other it's more or less slugging it out. Squall kinda folds to overwhelming offense in cutscenes, main ones being a Fire spell from Seifer in the intro, the grunt in the power armor body checking him during the Garden attack, and the ice spear from Edea. DK's got that kind of strength and goes straight for rushdown. Squall vs Kiryu is more risky for Kiryu since Squall's more technical and a gunblade's unfamiliar plus a bit unpredictable by nature with the whole "pull the trigger, make an explosion that propels the blade mid-swing" thing.
