It's a horse with a legendarily bad losing streak, having 0 wins and 113 losses. She kind of became a hero, someone who never gives up.

She became way more popular, especially in the west, after that horsegirl gacha game came out. The character based on her was really endearing.

I dont really think who is an appropriate response to any topic regarding the passing of a living being.

Sadly it was only a matter of time because she was pretty damn old. That really fucking sucks though.

At least she did manage to win a retired horse race before she left. Still, tragic fucking thing to wake up to.

Glad the Uma Musume anime and especially having the gacha released in English gave a lot of recognition to Urara and other horses. RIP.

Its so easy to just Google it though, since its not like its a common name thats going to give you a ton of mixed results.

If I had said Muffins passed away, thats genuine who territory, as thats a common word/name and theres no way to know who or what he or she was. So in that case it would be better to specify if Muffins was a pet or whatever.

Not true. I don't even know of the game. The only reason I know of the horse is because of the Biffy Clyro song I posted.

Also I don't think I've ever seen a topic about someone's pet dying on CE that was just "Fido has passed away" and didn't actually explain the context themselves in the topic title.

I know who that horse was because a sumo wrestler who also had an incredibly bad start to his career and who has basically lingered in the bottom two divisions of grand sumo for decades based his shikona (ring name) off the horse.

The wrestler in question is called Moriurara, for those curious.

If I had posted a topic about 14 months ago saying "RIP Calvin" with no other information, then people probably would. Those topics tend to clarify beyond a name.

But people will say something like My cat Muffins died (rather than just Muffins died) because their pet isnt famous. Googling muffins wont bring up a bunch of results, unlike Haru Urara, especially in the wake of such a huge event.
